meningococcal vaccine....

Australia had a big scare with meningococcal last year and parents vaccinated their children (A.U.. 70 dollars ashot )and has called all parents to be aware of this new coming disease....well, this year it is available for school aged children for free.....

Is this vaccine safe and also was wondering if it is an epidemic case for all the world to be vaccinated against..

Do all countries U.S.A have this type of vaccine available to school aged children?

Don't know about USA, but the schools in the UK have vaccination all the time for school kids. (so we dont pay for them)

my son just had another one, although I'd have to look on his card what it was for, but they have 2, I think it is at Primary (junior) school and another 2/3 at Secondary school (our kids finish at 16) but then can go on to college or University if they.

I was more concerned if the vaccines they give out are safe...
The children here are required to have them, but are they doing them any good?
I know if the child is sick or unwell they should not have the vaccine....
