Looking at the video I think that too much is being made about nothing. The picture makes it look worse than it is. He's already flared and it is when he puts his nose up to climb that it looks like he is close to the ground. If he climbs out at a shallower angle then this whole thing goes away. I don't know if he violated the flight rules for an airshow but he was in no danger of losing the aircraft.

He may or may not of been in danger of losing the aircraft, but it doesnt take away from the fact that he was still about 200 feet closer to the ground than he should of been, why would he immediately get called in after this if it was planned into the display? i've been to this airshow for aslong as i can remember and even though the 2 mig-29's collided, and an italian plane got its nose wheel stuck in the runway on landing, nothings ever come close to hitting the floor.
