ATS introduces the membership Council

~The ATS Council mission statement~

The ATS council exists for you. Our mission is to listen to the needs of all members, young and old alike, and to be your voice. Not only will the council work to solve problems, but we will also work to create new incentives to promote heightened member enjoyment. Each council member has been elected to represent a specific area of the board to make it easier for you to make us aware of problems, ideas and thoughts you may have. We welcome all member input. In the spirit of denying ignorance, help us learn what you want so that we can make ATS a better place for all.


As a member-elected body, it is the ATS council's goal to make this site a more friendly community, encouraging respect and collaboration among all, in our common pursuit of truth. Working together, we all DENY IGNORANCE!

An announcement, with comments welcome, of course.

The difference between DISC?

We serve as a conduit between members and board administration. We're hear to listen to ideas of members and take their suggestions to the table with the admin in hopes of implementing them so ATS is how the members want it and members have a better experience.

In describing a "difference" we would be making a statement based on comparison and contrast, so perhaps above is half the answer. So what's a DISC for?

Why don't you tell us what DISC is for, MA. You were a member and you'd be better suited to answering that question than I. My answer takes into consideration what I know of DISC, which is admittedly very little.

DISC is an independent think tank that functions as a test bed/nuts & bolts forum that can brainstorm sans board influence. The objective is to quickly find solutions to the boards needs, and assist the board administration in the mundane minutiae…

DISC is independent of the ATS Council.

I know very little of it and have seen little aside from ancient history. It would seem that clarification of the roles and responsibilities of both, as well as positive reinforcing statements of what they will be achieving, would have some value.

But I like that you can make a unilateral difference (that is, a difference out of one thing!)

Someone will answer, and we will know when the answer has come from the chosen one.




Reminds me of a well know Samuel Beckett play, huh.

Hi I´m Hellmutt and I come from the Kingdom of Norway. Norway is very cold (down to minus 52 degrees celsius = minus 61,6 Fahrenheit) and the kids there grow up wrestling polar bears on their way to school. In addition to polar bears they have to fight moose, wolfs and bears in their daily struggle to gain knowledge and to get an education. The Vikings come from Norway and we discovered America, Antarctica and the Arctic. The norwegians are very smart people and good looking too. I might of course be biased here...

I was elected by the members to be the ATS X Councilor for this term. I´ve chosen djohnsto77 and onlyinmydreams to be my assistants. Together we are the X Council and we are covering these forums:

Hi members and truth seekers!
I am writing this to tell you how honored I am to represent ATS, in the form of At Large Councilor.
We councilors are here to be a 'go between' for the membership to share ideas and suggestions with administration of the ATS site.
Do not hesitate to get ahold of us about any idea, and we will do the best we can to see if it can be put into action.
If your having any problems with the site we are also here to try and rectify the issue once it is brought to attention.

My area of the board is...... well? the whole site actually! That is why my postion is called ~At Large~ My area is RATS, board and questions, I have the honor of focusing on the new members, helping them to feeling welcomed and clued in to how we do things respectfully around here. Any area that can use a hand is where I wanna be, so if you see something you need help with do not hesitate to contact me! I will get the people involved that CAN help, if I am unable to do it myself.

A bit about me......I am a 42 year old aquarius, sculptress of clay, Chef, part Apache and I am a divorced mother of one son. I live in Salt Lake City Utah, and spend as much time as I can in the great out of doors, camping,whitwater rafting & watching the stars. I am a MUFON member, and a rock art hunter. I have been a member of ATS for over a year now.

As a Councilor, I am assisted by two wonderful members, Parrhesia and Ycon. If you can't get ahold of me please contact one of them. I am the only female on the Council and both my assistants are also women. We are a 'get it done' team, and work together to forword the progress of ATS and its members.
We are hoping to hear from YOU sharing YOUR ideas for board improvement soon!
