Warning: Division by zero in /home/virtual/site3/fst/var/www/html/forum/index.php on line 31
What does this mean?

It is written above on top of Above Top Secret.

Helen

In HTML code terms it is pointing out that an equation won't work because it's attempting to divide by zero.

Or that is what they want you to think.

In fact, it is possible to divide by zero, but impossible to display the answer, which is infinity.

So what has happened, as William pointed out in his thread, is the Social Climate meter has gone so far to the right ('Run For The Hills') that there is zero space left for the continuum to move in, and therefore the calculation bringing that about is impossible and infinite.

So, the world is about to end.

Read dragonrider's thread on preparation for that.

Ok thanks masked!

So there's nothing major for me to worry about?
Well, except to ''run for the hills''!
If I could find some hills ,that is!

I think Uluru or north would be far safer than the nearest hills.

Stay away from the east coast, get as far west of the Great Dividing Range as you can.

I always thought Parkes was kind of cute, and I liked the way it came up in The Dish.

I remember tearing along the road to the observatory at double the speed limit, and the causeways were all well signposted except the first one.

That was the only time I have been in inner orbit in a spacecraft.

Yep, we have all broken William's little play toy of gauging the climate in and of ATS....
In a few days from now....the press will leak out that Al-Qaida was behind this dastardly deed.

OK, but with the world about to end, where are you going to go on the bike?

I think Pine Gap could be quite romantic actually!

Pine Gap, preferred Armageddon scenic spot for all Australian mods

The Dish was about Parkes Observatory's contribution to the Apollo 11 lunar landing. It was moderately funny.

Also it resurrected Russell Morris's 'The Real Thing', produced by Molly Meldrum, the best psychedelic song out of 1969, thrashing anything out of the west coast or Texas.

Strange that this started off as a technical question about the board, and ended up as a southern hemisphere survival/fatalism thread...

OC, why would anyone want to nuke Australia???
