Group lays claim to London blasts
'Al Qaeda in Europe' warns other nations

LONDON, England (CNN) -- A previously unknown group calling itself
the "Group of al Qaeda of Jihad Organization in Europe" released a statement Thursday claiming responsibility for the subway and bus bombings in London earlier in the day.

CNN could not confirm the authenticity of the statement, which was posted on a Web site connected to Islamic radicals.

Metropolitan Police Deputy Assistant Commissioner Brian Paddick said authorities had received no direct claim of responsibility, but investigators were aware of the Web site claim.

Umm.. In Cases like this it has been well known for quite a few groups to claim responsablitiy, after all anyone can claim it was them.

Actually, Al Qaeda ultimately claimed full responsibility for 9/11 and Bin Ladin gloated over it in his messages, both video and audio.
