Please let's keep this story straight - the Muslims had nothing to do with it

[edit on 7-7-2005 by dh]

I have a hunch that video surveillance, although inconclusive, will provide so called "hard evidence" linking these attacks to anti-globalist anarchists leading to the act of protesting becoming a federal crime. However, this is only a theory/speculation based on no factual evidence what-so-ever.

Either Islamic Jihadies or Anarchist protesters.

Is that a sarcastic comment?

I guess so but one designed to remind everyone that every coin has two sides and no one is above hypocrisy. It seems easier for some to condemn angry victims than devious terrorist. Then there are those who stick their fingers in their ears, close their eyes and hmmm when these groups take credit, praise their own brutal actions and threaten more.

But let someone criticize their core ideology and the gloves come off. People are entitled to their opinion I could care less about the PC prison in which some of you reside. I do not. I think those responsible deserve the blame and punishment regardless of religion, skin color or nationality.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that all Muslims are evil, but I'm not about to cut them any slack when they are responsible for most of these bombings.

What an arrogant statement that is.

You do realise that "muslim" is a religion and that muslims come from over 100 different nations, are of virtualy every race on this planet, and for the most part have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism or any country supporting it, right?

That would be like not wanting to "cut some slack" to a uhmmm lets say italian immigrant because an irish terrorist, his "catholic brother", joined the IRA. After all, they are of the same religion so they must have the same terrorist mindset.
Such logic makes no sense at all.

Not all Muslims bomb buses.

Not all Christians bomb abortion clinics.

Not all Pagans sacrifice children.

Not all Americans are Republicans.

Not all human beings are men.

There's a pattern here.

Those who advocate branding a billion people as criminals for the acts of a few are promoting bigotry, and evil.

The crime terrorists commit is the murder of innocent people.

The crime bigots are proposing is to murder innocent people in retaliation.

Both are monsters.

If you support attacking innocent Muslims as part of some sort of justice trip, you are choosing sides with terrorism.

Terrorists are offering the world a choice. We may either oppose them or join them.

I oppose them. I oppose terrorism.

And that is why I will staunchly oppose any and all forms of terrorist bigotry, such as that which is being proposed against Muslims as a whole.

That is a path I will not follow, and those who do make themselves my enemies.

Evil begets evil.

Choose your path wisely.

All we can do is to carry on as per-normal, there is no point in letting todays events change the way in which live in any way, shape or form. ...

easier said than done.
there's a whole lot of emotion & passions & hind-sights, still to escalate!

for instance:

London has the greatest proliferation of camera surveilence/monitoring of any European Capital....
that fact did not deter the perps.
Therefore, having an 'instantaneous' perp. alert, with an immediate deployment of forces
to confront or restrain the 'suspects' would be the next generation of security measures....
to bring about a 'domestic tranquility' & peace-of-mind.

for instance #2:

London has the greatest concentration of Islamic orgs., schools of thought,
sects (including radical sects) of all the cities & countries of Europe.
Perhaps there will arise a Back-Lash against 'controversial or fundamentalist'
Islamic clerics & leaders...maybe there might develop a UK type 'patriot act'
which focuses on Jihadist or radical speach makers as being 'Insurrectionist" and a form of 'sabotage'...against the State!

for instance #3:

the UK, not only to protect their own citizens, but to provide for the
worldwide visitors of the 2012 Olympiad an absolute security,
will feel it necessary to install all these draconian measures...
and the 'required' NWO will be welcomed with enthuasiasm,
as a bulwark from the Jihadist zealots, as they are termed.

just a quick look at youse guys, not 'getting back to normal'
-at least not any-time-soon,

best to youse all

I live in the UK. I was not in London today, but i know London very well. The UK has suffered in the past, with the many IRA bombs and attacks and London has been the victim of terror attacks before, although not quite as large scale as this. I for one will not be cowered by the inhuman evil non humans that did this. I will stand up for my right to have democracy in my country. I will fight to defend my country. We British will survive this, we lived through terror with the IRA and we will go on, we will survive.

I did not vote for Blair in the recent elections here, for many reasons some domestic as well as the war in Iraq. However i thought he spoke well today and feel that he is a good leader in this kind of emergency and i support him at a time like this.

When will the Human Race grow up? We must not be consumed by our petty differences anymore, else we face the danger of entering an abyss from which there will be no escape.

Indeed.

I was watching it on CNN, then turned to Fox, bad choice. All I have heard since then was

"IRAN DID IT!!!! NUke Em ALL!! Eat their babies!!!! Iran did it!!!" Uh is there any proof of this yet? "Shut up!!! We said Iran did it so they must have!!!!"

I can't believe it, they are blaming an entire nation before we even know who did it! It could be the IRA or whatever it is called. But I think again just some whack jobs like on 9/11. Of course, they were working for the Taliban that controlled Afganistan, so in that case you could say "Afganistan did it". But this? Doubt Iran had anything to do with it, no matter how loud Hannity screams it.

And now count is up to 40, rest in peace to all the victims, and my regrets to the family and friends of the victims.

That is a great qoute, and says so much in times like these. There are no winners on days like today, only losers. It is just a pity many people are still unaware of this, and continue to be the fools which MLK talks about.

I agree with Paperclip and that we should step back a little from today's incidents.
It' a tragedy for the families of the injured and dead and we should think how we
would feel.
Sorrow, rage, and then grief, all normal.
But we shouldn't start pointing fingers at suspects, not us...

Justice will be done and the true offenders will be found.
It scares me that we have now truly made the extremists target league.

What will tomorrow bring?

I`m saddened as much by the destruction that I have seen in London today as by the nonsense that some people have written here.

Today is sad day people, much like any other on this planet. Be thankful that when you type your petty words of pointless arguement people lie dead, people lie wounded their lives changed forever. Whilst you have the use of fingers that frankly don`t seem worth it.

Think people, love people and remember the dead.

Sorry dh, but this is senseless babble in light of the fact an arabic group claimed responsibility for it (yeah I know they are not REAL arabs but westerners in disguise).

Earler this week Kokla accused me of being "conditioned" when I expressed concern over the potential for live8 as a bombing target. Maybe such conditioning actually goes the other way in the light of these events. Don't let your ideologiy screw your judgement

Believe your eyes ...

Yes, but I mean't in a nice way....

And I also thought the same thing, I just didn't voice it.

But you bring up quite an important point.

Would it have been more effective to attack today or last Saturday?

Disrupt G8, maim and kill innocent people on a working day, at rush hour, disrupt the transport system and instill fear and anxiety?

Let off numerous devices about and around the Live8 concert ensuring the maximum amount of casualties plus the above minus the working day?

Purity.. regarding the balloons....apparently they were to advertise a play and the actual english on them was "Bye Bye London", so just coincidental I guess.

Nation of Islam

[...]

We have fulfilled our promise and carried out our blessed military raid in Britain after our mujahideen exerted strenuous efforts over a long period of time to ensure the success of the raid.

Two things here: Nation of Islam ? This is the first time that I can recall seeing the term 'Nation of Islam' used in this context. Now, quite clearly I could be wrong, and taking this way out of context, but is this term itself, or it's usage here significant? Lets be clear - I'm not suggesting that this implicates the US NOI movement in this in any way, but in the fact that the statement appears to contain a new, or at least an unusual descriptor in this context ?

Secondly, the statement appears to be phrased in the past tense, and in singular terms - in that the promise has 'been' fulfilled, and our [blessed] raid [...] - 'raid' singular.

... maybe one can read too much into, or out of such things.

Do we have an accurate summary yet ?

Please can I add my voice to the request for links to sources, as in common with 9/11 there are reports of a number of additional incidents floating around which need to be dealt with one way or another. I completely understand that people want to get information out as quickly as possible, and it's in no way a slur, nor a question of personal integrity, but keeping an eye on developing stories can be helped if the source sites refresh with new information, but that might get lost without the sources URL's.

You know i heard from the BBC that its not terroiest attack but a problem in cables in the train station that are old.

I dont know there isnt enough evidnce to talk about just people (powerful jewish) piont at us muslims.

In real thing there is manything that is confidational like the 911 inestgation with Henry Kissiger is responsible ( the 1st Jewish to become a prime minister in Amercain ) take control of investgation, thats means that the information is no told to the victim's family and loved ones.

Something happens they media have to blame someone that is the whole islamic nations. I bet you after few days they will tell you the suspect and then after a few weeks the will tell you that this guy is being a suspect and followed for long time blah blah blah.... Like the 911 saying that this guy went from england then to france then he bought a kniofe the he return to france then to that place and the where folloing him and say that they could have done something,

I tell another thing Bin Laden will come one the tv say stuff like this ands that and everybody will say i knew it it was a muslim should of killed the all when i had a chance .

thats makes me very angery and disapionted

They use the term "Nation of Islam"? Instead of Islamic Nation?

There is a damn large significance in that term.

"The Nation of Islam (NOI) is a religious and political organization founded in the United States by Wallace Fard Muhammad in 1930 with a declared aim of "resurrecting" the spiritual, mental, social and economic condition of the black man and woman of America and the world."

en.wikipedia.org...

It's the American version of Islam that Malcolm X was a part off, before he denounced it.
