I disagree, but I think it would take some kind of Brave New World extremist hierarchy to allow it to happen.

(and still wouldn't be 100% of course - there's always the anomaly)



I have thought and thought on this idea for years and I believe it is a reasonable outline of a solution for mankind.

Have a working caste and a thinking caste
Use "soma" and entertainment to hypnotise the world population into realitive submission
Punish those who try and disrupt the hierarchy (or reassign them within it if feasible)

I know this sounds superficially abhorrent to many of the people here - but seriously think about it - we would all be in the thinking caste and have our desires for progress, research, creativity, and problem-solving fulfilled, and the rest of the population would have their more instinctual desires fulfilled as well.

No need for war - an efficent central government with minimal corruption would exist - and all humans would share in sufficent food/clothing/shelter/health care, etc.

Its either this, people, or we fight selfish wars for popular leaders until the Earth is ruined and we as a species are laid waste.

Its time for the luddites to get out of the way and for Humanity to start making real social progress again.

I am going to have to agree with you, judging by our track record as humans. Every major massacre was somhow related to some religion. And 99% of terrorism is religion based too. You could argue the same stuff will happen without religion, but if you look at the people doing these things, all the crazy stuff they have done is totally based off whatever religion they claimed to be part of.


Remember the "holy" crusades? We destroyed civilizations, and ruined possible archeological artifacts. Remember the witch hunts ? They butchered many many people for no good reason.

Hereign lies the problem, we cant just "abolish" religion, too many people are religious. But we can try and raise the human literacy rate as close to 100% as we can, im willing to bet if people had a more overall view of history and our relations to each other they will realize the obselence (is that a word? hah) of religion. I dont want to go off on a tangent here about it though. And i have no interest in a battle of wits with any religious folks, because if they are religious let them believe what they want, but the only thing I ask, if they are going to preach to kids, let the non religious folks preach to kids too.

There will never be peace in our world. Why ? Is it the people, a region ? a religion ? No the world is far from getting better. I am not sure who said this but where the heck do they live ? And what do they do and read to assume this ? We have more crime now than the world has ever seen with all the years added together.

We have more people in our world with liberal idealogies saying that things that were moraly wrong years ago are now ok ? Decline of scociety.

We have more people teaching tolerance ? Tolerance of what ? Other harmful things coming into our society ? ACLU protecting the criminal.

Watch the news lately ? Crime is up. This means murder, rapes, molestations, What are we doing as a society ? Letting these criminals out too early on good behavior ? Changing the constituion to fit within personal agendas.

Rumors of war ? The war is already here. We are on the edge of a global war. It is very evident in the news that we read around the world today.

Man is sick and evil apart from God. Man will never be able to correct this problem. It's called Free Will ! We all have it and use it everday. But since man is evil this is the way the world is heading.

The only peace that we will see is when Christ Himslef returns and snuffs out the antichrist ! Until then like God said. This world is not His, But Satans. God gave satan dominion of this world till He returns. I would have to say he is doing a pretty good job at corrupting our world, values, morales etc..........

Not the end of violence, but a drastic reduction in violence. there will still be the standard devation, well have murderers, and power hungry dictatorships. But we wont have some guy with a bomb strapped to him sacrificing himself to kill people, and we wont have people spending time and energy promoting a placebo when they could be bettering themselves or learning a new skill.

So basically what you're saying is that it's hopeless for man to ever become united just because, in your opinion, mankind is evil aside from God. I don't believe in God, yet I don't, along with many others who know me, consider myself to be evil. Actually alot of my moral beliefs are based on the Christian religion but I just take a more scientific look at the world. I have free will and I choose to use it in a positive way along with many others in this world who are working towards a more peaceful society.

Religion creates boundaries between people. For example: just because I don't believe in your God then you automatically assume that I'm evil. How can someone whom you consider evil be working to make the world a more peaceful place? I have faith in my fellow man to create peace on Earth rather than wait an unknown amount of time for a God to do it instead.

I would like you to prove that crime now is worse than it was during the Dark Ages, Middle Ages, or Crusades. During those time periods moral standards were well below what they are now. Torture was acceptable, Slavery was common, and overall the way people treated one another was terrible. Plus the world population was much lower than it is today so there's a greater possibility of a person committing a crime out of many who don't.

The thing is that the (second) coming of Jesus on Judgement day will unite the world and all the tribes will ‘mourn’ and recognize that it’s the Christ. Even Hindu's, Papua's, etc will understand what is going on. Their human and not stupid.

To be honest, I don’t know. Its in His hand and all people will be judged by their actions. I’m sure God will do the right thing. There is not much said about people who lived their life and never got an opportunity to chose or reject Christ. The Roman letters are talking about that all people get judged by their own conscious. The 10-commandments are programmed in everybody’s hart even if you never heart the 10-commandments. Even -accepted in some cultures- every human beeing (Papua, Sikh, Muslim or Reiki teacher) knows that killing, lying, adultery, gossiping and stealing is wrong. My God is a righteous God and so will be His judgement over someone who never heart of Jesus but acted according their own conscious.

I think it will take something very drastic and deadly to unite the world as one. Now will this be achived during our time? I cannot answer that question but would'nt it be nice?

its a little whacky but it gets the point accross. religions are all fabrications, but they did have a purpose at one time, and thats the pursuit of honor and respect among your fellow humans, that idealism is lost on reality though, because people use religion for all sorts of silly things.

without going too off topic here, religions are holding us back right now. and thats only a 65 meg download shouldnt be too painful to grab ;o
