War ! War I say !

Get the troops ! Get the four submarines !

Canada's ambassador to the United States has launched an all-out war on Fox News Channel.

Ambassador Frank McKenna has undertaken a public relations effort to reach the more than 1 million Canadians living in the United States, a group he calls the "Canadian diaspora."

...

But most importantly, he says, Canadians in the U.S. should counteract Fox News, alleging that the network often spreads disinformation and creates a false picture of his homeland.

...

McKenna said they (canadians) should carry these messages to Americans:

- Canada is the largest source of imported crude oil in the U.S., bigger than Saudi Arabia or the yet untested reserves of Iraq.

- Canada has rotated 13,500 troops in the war on terror, has committed $300 million to rebuilding Iraq and is about to deploy a reconstruction team to Afghanistan.

- None of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists entered the U.S. from Canada.

- Canada-U.S. trade supports more than 5 million American jobs.

He is also a member of the Carlyle group.
How odd that he would say these things.
Oh well I can't complain about it. FoxNews has been spreading disinfo about Canada for a while now. It's about time something will be done.

The funny thing is that O'Reilly says the same things about the CBC in Canada.

War !

It isn't Fox NEWS, but folks like Bill O'Reilly, that seems to have a propensity for taking stabs at Canada.
AS is with everything else he says, take Bill's words for what they are, and don't worry about him!

Ha ha.

Bill O'Reilly is like the king of disinfo. During an interview with a Globe and Mail columnist he fabricated evidence of success of a boycott of French imports to intimidate the columnist. He said France has lost billions of dollars in according to "The Paris Business Review." There is no such thing!
In fact American imports from France have actually increased since the whole "freedom fries" crap began.

I just read McKenna's quote
saw that statement
- None of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorists entered the U.S. from Canada.
and yet home land security plugs up Canada/ US border ---- puzzling!
I think the USA is in the process of shooting it's self in both feet.

I just wanted to finish this sentence, if you don't mind.

While on the Mexican border citizens are forced to form their own patrols because there are so many people coming in there.

I just don't understand.

I don't mind My Parents winter in Mission TX, a couple miles from the river.
My dad tells me you have to lock down a $5.00 bike or it's gone.
and many residents have guns ready, which freeks my CDN parents out.

Don't you guys get it here !

It's all about the Fricken Censorship in Canada.

I think if some of you took the time to research Bill's sources you would realize he is the only one in the media that has enough balls to go against the grain and tell the truth- even if it hurts relations with other countries.

If you want the Truth come to America.
If you want censorship stay in Canada.

What news source does not spread disinfo and creats false pictures of other countries?

The point is that disinfo is a problem, and saying that everybody does it is not helping it at all. Fox news is first because it is the major offender, soon more media outlets will fall victim to this, if this disinfo and predudice keeps up.

They can say stuff about other countries, but not to a country that Fox News can be widely viewed in. I pick up Fox News on my Digital Cable. The stuff I hear at times gets offensive.

O'Reilly's pissed about that fifth estate program about the war between the republicans and democrats during the election, but in an update Bob McKeown tried to get O'Reilly on to discuss it...he wouldn't though...wonder why. Frankly, I thought it was very well done. Judge for yourself online Sticks and Stones

What, what, what? Censorship? Huh?
The media in the U.S. is more castrated than anywhere else on the planet!

And Bill O'Reilly wouldn't know the truth if it smacked him upside the head. He's the King of the Dumbed Down 'Merican. I don't have digital cable, so thankfully I'm not paying for the likes of that crap...but I see it sometimes when I'm in Florida...and its sickening! If that's what you watch, I suggest throwing the t.v. out the window and picking up some alternative international newspapers/or surf international websites for the truth. You won't get it in the mainstream media for the most part and you certainly won't get it from Bill O'Reilly. Seriously sometimes I think that the likes of O'Reilly, Coulter and Limbaugh speak and act as they do to make the Democrats look better.

O-Reilly is not one I listen to for information, and I'll tell you why. I've seen too, too many times when he was right for the wrong reasons, and wrong for the wrong reasons.
He's like an Algebra student screwing up the process but accidentally stumbling onto the right answer. What's the use of listening to someone like that?

The canadian media is not censored, this is a common misconception and i have no idea where it comes from. American media is far more censored, you watch a movie on american basic cable and it is cut apart the sound dropped out at some parts because its "offensive", yet you watch the same movie on canadian broadcast television and it airs complete and uncut.

Or maybe you think our media is censored because our news programs dont devote half of their time to covering a murder, or our newspapers dont do a three page spread and have interviews with the victims neighbors grandmothers psychic, but instead devote valuable page space to more pressing issues both at home and abroad?

Honestly i see this argument thrown around a lot by people from america and i just dont get it. Theres nothing that even remotely backs it up except for the fact that we dont have a constitution that garuntees us that right. But for some reason, we dont need it written down on some paper in a museum to know that right to a free press is a basic right in any country.
