It seems like rumsfeld is changing around his story about Iraq and WMD. click on the link and see the video and the full story.

infowars.net...

"The sole reason our troops are still embroiled in the turmoil is because of WMD. So we were told of an immediate threat from WMD, we went to war. We were then told there were no WMD. We were then told that we were never told of an immediate threat from WMD, yet we are still at war. ??"

You know what's even funnier BigPimpin, the sight of Colin Powell briefing the Security Council of the UN HOLDING A SUPPOSED PHIAL OF ANTHRAX IN HIS HAND!

Now that's funny and guess what. If that anthrax had been REAL the guy and almost everyone near him would've been deader than a DoDo!

I gues that yes, you can fool all of the people, all of the time!

This should be posted as a news item imho.

Its pure gold how Rummy is trying to crawl back on what he said before XD
Just like Bush is in alot of direct interviews, Rummy didn't know what exactly to respond when being caught in a blatant lie

One lie begets another and on and on...

Rumsfeld has no where to turn, explanation-wise. Time to hold him accountable for his & Wolfowitz' excellent adventure.

Colin Powell never claimed that the vial in his hand contained anthrax. If you had the volume turned up instead of listening to your hip-hop music, you would know that Mr. Powell was simply stating how much anthrax (ie- equal to the amount of the substance he was holding) could kill a certain amount of people. It's the same thing as holding up a grapefruit to explain the amount of uranium needed to produce a nuclear weapon. Obviously, a nuclear weapon cannot be produced using grapefruit. Duh.

First, it's VIAL. Second, you must come in contact with the bacteria in order to be infected. With the powder in the glass container, there would be no contamination of anyone or anything.

Next time, lets use a link to a more moderate site. Using left leaning drivel to puncuate your opinion, only makes you look terminally one-sided and fails to convince.

Army, dude, wtf does the leaning of the site the video is hosted on have to do with ANYTHING?

Its not a video made by that site, its a video from tele, and whats said is said by Rummy himself, noone else.

You are the one that looks Terminaly One sided for comming up with a comment like that about where the frigin video is hosted.

The site hosting it has nothing to do with or has no ability to change what Rummsfeld himself sais.

For the record, the information contained in the link provided is accurate. Unless you consider the BBC to be an unreliable left-wing rag. Next time, take the time to at least look at the information within. In this case the information is taken from quotes of Rumsfeld. He said it. The truth hurts.

I was talking to some guy last night in a bar that said he just got back from a tour in Iraq. He said he was in the "para-rescue"? In any case, he told me that the military has in fact found WMD and materials in Iraq but the CIA won't allow the release of info. Maybe he was lying but I don't know why he would be.

Of course Rummy said it, it's old news he's a freaking lier talking out of both ends

Iraqi WMDs

Snip~~

18 Sep 2002 Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld tells the House Armed Services Commitee: "[Saddam] has amassed large clandestine stocks of biological weapons... including anthrax and botulism toxin and possibly smallpox. His regime has amassed large clandestine stockpiles of chemical weapons, including VX and sarin and mustard gas... [he] has at this moment stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons."

19 Sep 2002 Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld tells the Senate Armed Services Commitee: "There are a number of terrorist states pursuing weapons of mass destruction -- Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria, just to name a few -- but no terrorist state poses a greater or more immediate threat to the security of our people than the regime of Saddam Hussein and Iraq." U.S., Brits Defend Prewar Intel

NEW YORK, June 25, 2003

Snip~~

"I have reason, every reason, to believe that the intelligence that we were operating off was correct and that we will, in fact, find weapons or evidence of weapons programs that are conclusive," Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said in a briefing Tuesday. "But that's just a matter of time."

Rumsfeld referred to admissions Iraq made about chemical weapons it possessed in the early 1990s, and reports from the Clinton administration about Iraq's alleged stockpiles of botulin and anthrax germs and Scud missiles.

He said almost everyone believed Iraq had these weapons.

The two trailers found in Iraq have been cited as evidence Saddam had illegal equipment. But while the U.S. contends they were mobile weapons factories, other experts disagree.

Along ECK's line of "surely there are more important things to argue":

There is nothing at all wrong with the word PHIAL.

Using your own limited world view and indoctrinated belief set can be far worse than using what some adversary cites that you subjectively see as "drivel".

It does make you wonder though, about why would Bush and several of his colleages wanna lie to the world. Especially if its about WMD's, I mean if they knew there weren't any weapons in Iraq then why would they make such a big deal on finding them knowing that we weren't going to actually find any.

Well, as Paul Wolfowitz himself has said, in Vanity Fair, they pitched the WMD line b/c most people would swallow it.

As far as the returning soldier's claim: if he was actually in possession of those facts, he certainly wouldn't be saying so in a bar. If what he said was true, he would be divulging classified information. He was probly talking out of his a double s.

Bush and crew:

Did we lie about aluminum rocket tubes magically being used for centrifuges?

Oops! My bad.

Did we not find a single WMD after using this ploy to goad congress and The US public into supporting this fiasco?

Oops! My bad.

Did we squander a 1/5th of a TRILLION dollars turning a stable nation into a chaotic mess and perfect sanctuary and breeding ground for terrorists?

Oops! My bad.

Did we commit acts of torture, murder and brutality at Abu Grabe that is now the recruiting poster for Al Qaeda and anti-American terrorism?

Oops! My bad.

Have we killed 2000 Americans and 100,000 Iraqis in this mistaken adventure?

Oops! My bad.

Did we ridiculouslly expect cheers and acollades from the Iraqi people, and not have one iota of contingency planning in place?

Oops! My bad.

Did we funnel Billions of dollars to Cheney's Haliburton and Bechtel?
[Pretend] oops. My bad. *wink* (at Haliburton)

American People: How did allow this person and crew to become the leader of this nation?

BIG SUPER OOPS! Our very, very bad.

Well they did find some bad gas but it wasn't Saddams and it was in 1999:

Powell claimed that Iraq had four tons of VX nerve gas when getting support for the war on Iraq. The UN had already confirmed that it was destroyed.
The only VX ever found were samples the US had left as "standards" for testing in 1999. When the UN suspected that the US samples had been used to contaminate Iraqi warheads, the US moved quickly to destroy the samples before comparison tests could be carried out.

a Bit interesting on why most people with negative views on the US will go with the more disturbing 100,000 civilian deaths than the 25,814 on Iraqbodycount.net.

wonder why

I call it a leftist leaning site, for the fact that ONLY a leftist take is presented on it. Whether Mr. Rumsfeld said it or not was obviously not a point in my post.

The site does not research how old the info that Mr. Rumsfeld spoke of actually is, or who else said it...wanna guess? Throughout the '90's, the Clinton administration, and nearly all the liberals in the US government, repeatedly claimed WMD, nukes, and other terrible schemes being readied and used by Saddam and Iraq.

Here is but a few notables:

"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line." President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998

"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process." Nancy Pelosi Dec 16, 1998

"If Saddam rejects peace and wehave to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program." President Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998

"For the risks that the leaders of Iraq will use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons against usor our allies is the greatest security threat we face." Madeline Albright, Feb. 18, 1998

"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983." Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998

"We urge you to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs." Letter to President Clinton, signed by Sens. Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, and others Oct. 9, 1998

"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies." Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999

"Saddam Hussein is using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States." Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,)and others, Dec 5, 2001

"There is no doubt that Hussein has invigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue.? Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others, Dec, 5, 2001

"Saddam continues to refine delivery systems and to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the USA and our allies." Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others, Dec, 5, 2001

"We should be hell bent on getting those WMDs, but we should try to do it in a way which keeps the world together and that achieves our goal which is removing Saddam Hussein" - Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Dec. 9, 2002

"Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandates of the U.N. and is building WMD's and the means of delivering them." Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sep. 19, 2002

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country." Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power." Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002

"[War against Iraq] is simplya long-standing right of the United States and other nations to take the actions they deem necessary in their self-defense." Wesley Clark, Sept. 26, 2002 House Armed Services Committee Testimony.

"Saddam Hussein retains his chemical and biological warfare capabilities and is actively pursuing nuclear capabilities." Wesley Clark, Sept. 26, 2002 House Armed Services Committee Testimony.

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." Sen. Ted (Burp) Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons." Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

"Saddam Hussein has since (10/98) embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..." Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002

"I will be voting to give the President the Authority to USE FORCE to DISARMHussein because I believe that a DEADLY Arsenal of WMD?s in his hands is a Grave Threat to our Security." Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and willlikely have nuclear weapons within the next five years." Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct. 10, 2002

"He has systematically violated every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity." Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002

"Saddam has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members." Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"It is clear that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons." Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"Saddam would resort to chemical and biological weapons against our troops in a desperate -attempt to save his regime if he believes he and his regime are ultimately threatened." Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) Oct. 8, 2002

"Saddam Hussein used chemical and biological weapons. He disregarded UN resolutions. His forces fire on American jets. And he has the potential to develop and deploy nuclear weapons." Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002

"To dismantle Saddam Hussein's WMDs, the U.N. must interview relevant persons securely. That could be the only way to obtain truthful information about Saddam's weapons of mass destruction." Sen. Joseph Biden - January 23, 2003

"We are in possession of compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction." Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002 CBS Face The Nation

"We need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime. The threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real ..." Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003

"With respect to Saddam Hussein and the threat he presents, we must ask ourselves a simple question: Why? Why is Saddam Hussein pursuing weapons that most nations have agreed to limit or give up? Why is Saddam Hussein guilty of breaking his own cease-fire agreement with the international community? Why is Saddam Hussein attempting to develop nuclear weapons when most nations don't even try, and responsible nations that have them attempt to limit their potential for disaster? Why did Saddam Hussein threaten and provoke? Why does he develop missiles that exceed allowable limits? Why did Saddam Hussein lie and deceive the inspection teams previously? Why did Saddam Hussein not account for all of the weapons of mass destruction which UNSCOM identified? Why is he seeking to develop unmanned airborne vehicles for delivery of biological agents?" Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), October 9, 2002 Congressional Record, Sen. John F. Kerry

"Saddam Hussein's regime represents a grave threat to America and our allies, including our vital ally, Israel. For more than two decades, Saddam Hussein has sought weapons of mass destruction through every available means. We know that he has chemical and biological weapons. He has already used them against his neighbors and his own people, and is trying to build more. We know that he is doing everything he can to build nuclear weapons, and we know that each day he gets closer to achieving that goal."

"Iraq has continued to seek nuclear weapons and develop its arsenal in defiance of the collective will of the international community, as expressed through the United Nations Security Council. It is violating the terms of the 1991 cease-fire that ended the Gulf war and as many as 16 Security Council resolutions, including 11 resolutions concerning Iraq's efforts to develop weapons of mass destruction." Congressional Record Sen. John Edwards, October 10, 2002

You will notice that the above quotes are from the current group who is the most vocal in opposition to GW's efforts to battle against those who want all of you dead....islamic terrorists.

Now please, tell what did Mr.Rumsfeld pull out of his ass? What WMD's did George Bush mention in his speech? Were they the same ones as quoted above, stated with absolute assurance of truth and reality?

Drivel, bah. Truth will deny ignorace, gentlemen.
