You have to keep in mind that the "anti-christ" will mislead people spiritually. IMO. He cannot be a political leader as he will lead people away from God with false teachings.

Why does everyone think the anti christ will be a liar and a false prophet? because the church told them that? Isnt the church the false prophet? Isn't the church part of the greater conspiracy that keeps us chained and enslaved?

isn't money what was being talked about when said.......and he shall not trade unless he has the mark of numbers upon him......... "money"

and if the anti christ is the opposite of christ and in the tetragrammaton IHVH it goes father, mother, son and then "he" final the daughter...wouldn't the anti christ be a girl? as in opposite of christ the man?

I was wondering who this sananda person is so I did a google search. I found some pics of him, and I kept thinking that he looked like Terence Trent D'arby, a pop singer in the 90's. Well, it turns out it actually is. So supposedly he's a prophet now. How odd.

Gosh! Wow. I'm actually almost speechless after that revelation. I so used to love his stuff...takes me back to my sordid teen years

First we have Steven Seagal declaring himself a Tibetan tulku (and actually having a Tibetan guru agree)....now we have old Terence being a prophet. What's next? Courtney Love claiming to be Mary Magdalene?!

I think "going spiritual" completes the celebrity cycle. You start at the bottom, fairly unknown. Then you hit stardom. Then things fizzle down, people start to lose interest in you. Then you claim spirituality/religion. I guess to humble themselves.

I believe the book "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" by Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh, and Henry Lincoln does an excellent job of explaining a conspiracy theory involving the Antichrist. This particular theory was derived from historical records that apparently indicate that the Vatican is in cahoots with the Knights Templar/Freemasons/Prieure de Sion (Illuminati) to empower Jesus' descendent, or blood heir, into a priest-king (Antichrist) that will control a one world government and religion.

Considering the current pope is rumored to be trying to unify all world religions into one gives further credence to the theory outlined in the book.
www.msnbc.msn.com...
www.phillyburbs.com...
Other threads on this board contend that the next pope (the one after this one dies) is prophesied (prophesies of Malachy) to be the one that hustles in the Antichrist or is the Antichrist.
www.abovetopsecret.com...
www.crystalinks.com...
Furthermore, the European Union is well on its way to unifying the world under one government.
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Supposedly this new priest-king is directly descended from Jesus - a true blood heir. The Illuminati supposedly have some kind of infallible proof that the bloodline of Jesus Christ is still alive and thriving. They intend to unveil this evidence in order to establish the heir's claim to the throne - as King of Jerusalem or the World?
Supposedly, Jesus' heir will rule with the Illuminati as his "parliament" which in essence will comprise the NWO.
It's not difficult to imagine that many people will fall down and worship somebody who comes along and claims that he is descended from Jesus. In fact, aren't some of the tribes of Israel still waiting for a Messiah to appear?

The Bible also seems to collaborate on this theory as noted below. The Bible actually claims that men claiming to be Jesus will appear:

Mathew 24:15
15 When therefore ye shall see the abomination of desolation, which is spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in [what is a] holy place, (he that reads let him understand,) 16 then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains; 17 let not him that is on the house come down to take the things out of his house; 18 and let not him that is in the field turn back to take his garment. 19 But woe to those that are with child, and those that give suck in those days. 20 But pray that your flight may not be in winter time nor on sabbath: 21 for then shall there be great tribulation, such as has not been from [the] beginning of [the] world until now, nor ever shall be; 22 and if those days had not been cut short, no flesh had been saved; but on account of the elect those days shall be cut short. 23 Then if any one say to you, Behold, here is the Christ, or here, believe [it] not. 24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall give great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. 25 Behold, I have told you beforehand. 26 If therefore they say to you, Behold, he is in the desert, go not forth; behold, [he is] in the inner chambers, do not believe [it]. 27 For as the lightning goes forth from the east and shines to the west, so shall be the coming of the Son of man.

According to the book, the Knights Templar/Freemasons/Prieure de Sion (Illuminati) were or are deeply involved in the occult. In fact, the book claims that the Temple of Zion or Prieure de Sion (Illuminati) takes direction from some kind of floating head/demon. The book also claims that they worship a demon named Baphomet.
www.abovetopsecret.com...
If the bloodline of Jesus exists and is entrenched in worshipping demons then this may explain why the Bible states the following as noted above and worth repeating:
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall give great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.

I have never touched on the anti christ issue before on ATS (that I remember) personally I dont know what to believe when it comes to it.

How do you become an official antichrist? Alot of people could qualify.

Maybe I am the next antichrist.

I myself dont believe in an anti-christ, since I dont believe in a christ or god, but form the descriptions that I've heard, I'd have to say that a few that could fit the bill are;

George Bush (the current president one)

The church (Catholic especially)

And whoever came up with the idea of putting barcodes on a person, to use for monetary transactions, and would want to use it.

Than again, I have ben called the anti-christ before, because of certain things I believe and promote.

Anti-Christ Semifinal Playoffs

I'm somewhat disappointed that I wasn't nominated, but I suppose I can excuse the oversight.

Who's the Anti-Christ? The answer may be found by knowing what the Anti-Christ is.

So what is the Anti-Christ? Depends. The definition varies widely, as this discussion demonstrates.

However, unless that information is somehow determined, then the identity of the Anti-Christ will be impossible to discern.

Whether or not there ever will be an Anti-Christ is also impossible to discern, because if it hasn't happened yet, then there can be no assurance it will ever happen.

No assurance with a foundation, anyway.

Job Qualifications

As already mentioned, opinions vary about what the Anti-Christ actually is. Based on what I've read, I have some notions, but admit they are only that, and cannot be definitive.

I would expect the Anti-Christ to be the most exceptional human being to have walked on this planet for quite some time.

This guy will turn heads. He will have the most magnetic personality, his charm will be hypnotic. He will be polite and a genuine, sincere, all-around wonderful person.

This guy will be smart, and very suave. He will also be very much aware of what his job is, and the purpose he serves in the grand scheme of things.

Do not expect him to be evil. He will be noble, principled and scrupulous. He will radiate warmth and confidence like a magnetic field, lifting and inspiring everyone around him.

He will be honest -- mostly. He will be the person everyone else would want to be like. He will be the ultimate role model, the pinnacle of human refinement.

People will love him and will be willing to do anything for him. Anything.

I think he will know he is destined to fail. And he will try anyway, because that is his purpose.

His nature will force him to do his duty.

Prophet Potential

The Anti-Christ will be assisted by a False Prophet. Where the Anti-Christ has raw magnetism, the False Prophet will have wit.

So powerful will his intellect be that he will be able to beguile anyone who hears his words.

Skeptics, upon meeting him, will universally become his followers. No one will be able to deny the truths he speaks, because there will be no doubt of them.

The False Prophet will have many things to say. They will be worthy of notice because his words will reveal many things that will be proven true through investigation and experimentation.

The world will be baffled and amazed by the brilliance of this man, and will hang on his every word, because the knowledge he gives freely to the world will change it forever.

This guy will be big news.

A Match Made In Hell

The Anti-Christ and the False Prophet will team up, and together they will rule the world.

Everything will come together around them, as plans carefully nurtured for centuries are finally brought to bear in dramatic revelations.

The Partnership is the beneficiary of these ancient schemes, the Anti-Christ as heir and the False Prophet as executor.

The endowment will be the keys to the world.

There will be resistance and rebellion, and the Partnership will move decisively to defeat it,

And defeat it they shall, as their moment of ultimate triumph draws near.

Rachel Profiling

If these notions are correct, then it is reasonable to expect our Prime Candidates to match these descriptions to some extent.

So if you want to know who they are, then look for people who are like that.

I can't even believe people would put Prince Charles on the list. It has been a while since I brushed up on my antichrist research but if I recall the specs he would not fit most of them - yes rich and european, but that's about it.

He does not live in the 'shadows' as a royal's life is in the limelight and has about as much charisma as a fruitfly.

Also doesn't this antichrist person have to bring the world together in peace or something? *I* have more interest and more of a chance of uniting the world in peace than Charles! You don't understand... this guy gets laughed about and made fun of over people's morning tea - well in my house that is
I assume self-deprecation is not a trait of the antichrist?

Get real. If this person was to really exist, either they aren't around yet, or they haven't been made themselves public yet. I would start getting worried when someone fantastically good looking and suave starts showing up making peace speeches.

Till then I tell you - Charles is NOT your man.

This subject Is one of the most Important questions facing mankind. So I have spent years researching this far reaching and ultimately pivotal enigma. Now I know some are going to say I'm reaching a bit but I have come to the conclusion the anti-Christ is Pee Wee Herman. Check out the Bible code if you don't believe me.

So, do you think these 'sheep' will be aware of their 'sheep' status? Or will they think they're following... say... a good Christian man? Who claims to speak to God? Who says he's a Christian... with a pretext of ... saving the world from ...oh... say... terrorism...

Will you be 'on the outside' looking in at this sheep-like behavior, or will you be one of the sheep? Because if you were, you wouldn't know...

I'd place bets on W.

Of course someone had to bring up the pope. Guess what?
There are a billion Catholics but less than 5% of them actually
practice what the church teaches. And of those who actually
practice what the church teachers, NONE of them follow the
pope. The pope is a person. You never follow a living person.
If they screw up and end up in hell, you will go too since you
are following him.

The people of the Catholic faith do not 'follow' the pope.

Someone brought up Maiytraya. (however the heck you spell it??)
I don't believe that a person or entity with that name really exhists.
Benjamin Creme has been claiming to channel the guy for 20 years.
Always the time when he was to appear is 'imminent'. Yeah right.
Time for Creme to poop or get off the pot. There is no such thing
as Maiytraya.

Some say it's Bono from U2. He fits the philanthropist bill.
Some say it's Bill Gates. I'm sure the government think he is
the anti-christ, he has more money and power than it does.

My guess for Anti-Christ? RANT. Ha ha ha only kidding.

Considering that scripture says most everyone on the planet will
be fooled into following him, I highly doubt most of us would be
able to tell who the anti-Christ is.

The pope

two main reasons for labeling the pope as the anti-Christ. The first is that he usurps authority to change divine law, putting himself in Christ's place. The second is that he curses the chief teaching of the Bible, salvation by grace alone through faith alone. Both of these positions are unchanged since the time of the Reformation. In fact they are somewhat worse.

The papacy still makes and unmakes unchristian laws. It can change eating meat on Friday from not being a sin into being a sin, and from being a sin into not being a sin. The Bible says forbidding marriage is a doctrine of demons, but the pope forbids marriage to Roman Catholic priests. It forbids the remarriage even of innocent spouses who have been victims of adultery, but permits the guilty to attend communion if they obtain an annulment through the church. The list could go on.

After the Reformation the Council of Trent cursed anyone who believes that we are saved by faith alone. The Catholic church led by the pope still continues to teach salvation by faith and works together. The apostle Paul in Galatians teaches clearly that such a teaching is a denial of Christ.

In several important respects the teachings of the pope are worse today than at the time of the Reformation. In the last two centuries papal infallibilty has been officially proclaimed. Mary has been declared to be conceived without sin, and it is mandatory to believe that at the end of her life she was bodily taken to heaven.

The papal document of Pope John Paul II "Dominus Jesus" managed to fit the two opposite extremes of false doctrine into one statement. On the one hand, it reaffirmed that claim that there is no salvation outside the Catholic church. Lutheran churches that do not have apostolic succession are denied the status of "church." On the other hand, it states that heathen who do not know and believe in Christ can be saved. Those heathen who do live a life of good works can be saved as "anonymous Christians" even without faith in Christ. There cannot be more anti-christian doctrines than these.

Contemporary popes also accept evolution and critical methods of denying the character of the Bible as God's errorless Word.

What makes the pope the Antichrist rather than simple an antichrist is the way he carries out his control over such a large part of the church over the whole sweep of church history. No other antichrist fits the marks in Daniel and Revelation.

Didn't bother to read the post above yours, did ya'?? :shk:

The pope has no control. There are 6 billion people on this planet.
The 4 billion non-christians don't listen to him. The 1 billion protestants
don't listen to him. Out of the 1 billion Catholics, only 5% actually follow
what the church says. No one follows the pope. Not even most Catholics.
There is no mass following of the pope. He isn't charismatic and alluring.
In fact, most people do just the exact opposite of what he says.

Pope John Paul II said not to go to war with Iraq. The Coalition of the
Willing did indeed to go war. If the pope had any real power, it wouldn't
have happened.

There have been 265+ popes. Every one of them since the 1500's has
been decryed as the Anti-Christ by some protestant group or other.
Every time a new one is elected, they switch their Anti-Christ cries from
the last one to the new one. The pope isn't the anti-christ.
He doesn't fit the bill.

Flyersfan the Pope is the leader of the Roman Catholic church. And probly one of the most powerful people in the world. I never ONCE metioned a guilt of association by people who follow him, or stlye themselves after the same 'branch' of religion. And if I look at the number of people who waited and celbrated the new pope I think he has to have SOME followers.

If you read the defintions of the Anti-Christ in Daniel, and Revelations, it does not have to be what appears to be a single mortal human being. Protestant Chruches have almost ALLWAYS claimed the Papancy is the Anti-Christ... no matter which pope it currently is.

The explaination I gave covered the docturnal changes he has instituted, and I have to say a lot of Roman Catlolics follow to this day. Especially the one that has only appeared in the last century that Mary the mother of Jesus was born without sin. And the prostitute that Jesus prevented from getting stoned was Mary Magdaline. when all they have is thier "Divine" opinion to prove that it is true.

By thier actions, the Pope, of past present and most likley future is the Anti-christ based on biblical defintion of what the Anti-christ is

It doesn't matter if people choose not to follow him or not... he is still the anti-christ by definition
