Nightmarcher

I dont know if any body heard of the night marcher but it is known done her in Oahu.i was up one night when i heard a loud drum being hit.I was wondering what it was so i went and looked aroud and seen nothing untill i looked up in the mountain and seen lights in the mountain coming down and the weird thing about it was that they came down in a line like soldier in formation.all i did was ran in to the house didnt sleep the whole night!

I have never heard of this particular spectre. Now that you have survived your first encounter though, you can arm yourself with a digital camera and rechargeable spotlight. Then, the next time this happens, you can bravely go forth and confront the unknown. Ghosts have never killed anyone.

Ah i have heard of this. This is when supposedly the spirits come down from the mountains and march down the streets. Very old legend and many island people say that you are suppose to go inside when you hear the drum. Supposedly they march down the streets in a procession. With menehune following them. They march back up to the mountain after awhile. According to many locals, no one has seen the procession unless they were completely naked. For some reason, ghosts find it funny if we grovel completely naked and beg for our lives. If you didn't, you were taken with them in the procession. Here is a list of haunted places in Hawaii

Your discovery is simply amazing. From what I have read on the website Azathoth has given, Hawaii is a hotbed of paranormal activity. Like Groingrinder said, get a camera and see if you can take photographs of these night marchers.

You guyz have to be nutz to do that! there is no way im gonna stay out side when i hear does drums along with lights coming.If you guyz do more research on these nightmarcher you guyz would know why i wouldnt do that!

You can set up a webcam out of your door. Record the whole event without leaving the comfort of your place. I wanna see pictures of Pele in her undies!!!!She supposedly haunts around there too.

Don't you even for a second consider the fact that maybe its HUMANS doing the drumming and carrying torches? And if the legends are accurate, if you are outside maybe they let you join the drum and torch club to have fun drinking Hawaii liquor, *edit*nand freaking out the neighbors?

....Although I did have some dangerous encouter's with Pele while I was on the Big Island...
she has some fierce mojo!

Taking shots of these lights ascending the mountain couldn't hurt anything. If I was in Hawaii I would do it.

The only problem about people going out on these night marches is that its been going on for decades. Maybe even centuries. If all of the villiagers are told to stay inside and they all do then who is walking around with the torches and who is banging on the drums? Also take note that the color of the torches are different, and back in the day there was no such thing as natural gas torches.

That is Pele but there are reports of her in her avatar walking around the islands. She is a beautiful hawaiian woman always looks kinda sad though.
I believe the reports is she dresses in red

Nah, it's probably aliens. The 'stay inside or else bad things will happen' is just a conspiracy to keep you from seeing them marching into government offices.

Pele can either show up as young girl in a white dress or she can show up as a old lady in a white dress.and pele dont carry no torch.

Are there any accounts of Pele hurting people?

She wont hurt you but she will kill you, but the only time she kills if she comes to your house and she will be a old woman and ask for water and if you said no then the volcano moana lua will erupth and kill you.but if you say yes then she will not!

Yep, if you remove stones from the volcano on the Big Island, bad things happen through pele's curse.
I didn't believe it, tried to sneak some tiny pebbles off the volcano, and as soon as they were in my pocket I took a dive gashing open my hand and knee. I threw the stones back..except a few, I figured how would she know? Well later that day my brother and I are playing frisbee and he takes a dive, his chest slamming on an outcropping of volcanic rock, he laid there heaving for air, I reached down, got rid of those final stones, and he got up like nothing happened. Weirdness!!!
