And I am assuming you have proof of these allegations or evidence to support them?

You are a mouthpiece for the ones that are perpetrating these abuses, and guilty by association. Go suck a fuel hose.

Never mind, this answered my first question, go back to drinking you Kool-Aid sir.
I simply ask for proof of these abuses, and because I do that instead of hoping in the bashing bandwagon I am a mouth piece?

WP23,

Look carefully through your beer goggles at my previous post and you will see that the quote you referenced above was directed at Boatphone, not you.

You come across as genuine, and I mean you no disrespect. I just have a big 'tude about all the wounded soldiers out there that have been taken advantage of and had their lives ruined by the United States of Halliburton.

I started this thread on a very neutral tone so that the "us versus them" mentality wouldnt be prevalent here.
Its a topic that effects everyone. How about we stop the pi**ing contest and just lay out the facts.

WestPoint23:
Read the link story

"Greenhouse also complained when Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's office took control of "every aspect" of KBR's no-bid Iraqi oil infrastructure contract. "In reality, the OSD [Office of Secretary of Defense] ultimately controlled the award of the [oil] contract to KBR," she said. This arrangement was illegal since the law requires career civil servants, not temporary political appointees like the folks in Rumsfeld's office, to determine the winners of government contracts. The purpose of the law is to prevent political appointees from awarding contracts only to their friends in the private sector. Rumsfeld's office violated this rule by involving itself in awarding the $7 billion no-bid Iraqi oil contract to KBR. "
Washington Post

Your right not to blame KBR, theyre just out for a buck, blame Rumsfeld. There's your proof.

Who are these career civil servants? Hasn't the DoD always controlled who was awarded a contract?

Good question, maybe you should read up before coming to your current stand on this. The DoD is almost half civil workers and growing. You need to understand the system before the full scope of this crime is weighted on any one person for sure but dont just hope the DoD is doing the right thing.

I don't have a stand unlike some of the members here who automatically jump on the guilty side. And my question still has not been answered.

Westpoint, to answer your question about the DoD, the military comes forward with a list of things they need, be it planes, guns, food, etc then the civil servants go down the list and determine what THEY think the military needs, sends out a bid notice to companies that can meet the requirements, then goes over all the bids and determines what company best meets the requirements of the bid and awards the contract to that company. That's the basics anyway, I might have one or two small details wrong, but that's how *I* have always understood the bidding process for DoD contracts.

Dearest West Point...I have a challenge for you.

I would like to put you in a hall in front of the mothers of every serviceman from every nation who has died in the so called "liberation" of Iraq.

The lies and misinformation spread by the CIA and the ISREALIS and the missuse of the same info by my own British government about the WMDs are now known to be exactly that, LIES. So the agression and occupation of and against Iraq was and is unjustifiable, and therefore against the Geneva Convention, and so, the occupation of Iraq is ILLEGAL.

Could you, and how would you explain to those mothers that its PURELY COINCIDENCE that Bush, cheney, Rice etc..all have fingers in the pies and are direct financial benificiaries of the companys that profit more than any others in this mutli billion dollar war i.e. HALIBURTON.

Could you also explain the to them that there tax money wasnt embezzled by HALIBURTON, when they burnt new trucks and claimed 80,000 dollars for each, or maybe there money wasnt stolen when HALIBURTON delivered only 14000 meals from more than 40,000 but still claimed for the 40,000.

Maybe the marking up of gasoline or the delivery of out of date food has nothing to do with HALIBURTON or its subsiduries...

The "war" in Iraq financailly benfits the Bush family and others in positions of power within the White House and other seats of power in the American government.
The evidence is freely available to all to read.
Its a sad fact that so many more sons of America will leave their blood and their youth on the streets of Iraq before the nation (Iraq) has served its purpose and is sucked dry.

West Point could you face each and every American mother and say with a clear conscience that this war has nothing to do with profit ??

Do you really believe that the rise in deaths and the rises in profits are Not related.

With every helicopter that crashes you loose 2,4,6,8,10 men.
With every helicopter that crashes someones earns millions of dollars.

Every casket that comes home means a mothers LOSS.
Every casket that comes home means new body armour, new boots, new rifle...so someone GAINS.

West Point you are SO blind or are you so NAIVE that you believe what they tell you on the t.v.

Yes I could, sure people profit form wars but was it started with that intention is the question and I don't believe it was.

I already explained this, like I said if more people get into car accidents then the repair shops make more money if more people die in those crashes then casket companies make more money. Cause and affect its nothing criminal about it.

West Point you are SO blind or are you so NAIVE that you believe what they tell you on the t.v.

I'm just not like you, I don't take my government hatred and fear and combine it with a few facts and start producing conspiracy theories and speculation about everything.

What i said was............The people who benefit (directly) financially from this war are the people who provoked it...namely George Bush jnr and his father..Dick Cheney...Condoleeza Rice to name but a few....the G.I. on the street aint gonna get rich from this war, only the politicals with shares and directorships in the companys that have won the billion dollar contracts, companys like HALIBURTON..and who has a finger in the pie in HALIBURTON....YES....your president.

Theres no conspiracy theory when the FACTS ARE THERE FOR ALL TO SEE AND READ...

I have no hatred for your or my own government, ableit i have a mind open to the fact that , as they say, POWER CORRUPTS AND ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTLEY...

There is no conspiracy in the fact that the three politicals mentioned above have direct connections to companys that have made huge profits from the war in Iraq, through positions they hold within the companys.
Therefore, if the president sends men to war for a known LIE ,using evidence provided by other people who aswell are major players and profiteers from other companys that will win contracts, knowing that this war will win billions of dollars in contracts for a company in which he is one of the major players, then YES, there is a conspiracy.
The haliburton group is responsable for the embezelment of millions of US tax payers dollars through false contracts, theft, and lies.

If a car delaer sells cars with no brakes in a town knowing his brother has the only funeral palour in the town, and he sells the cars knowing that people will die therefore his family profit, hes guilty right !!!!

Now tell me its not the same with georgy boy, Cheney and Rice...
Or do you believe telling the truth is wrong...

Why don't you show me some facts about the president, Rice and Chaney being in Halliburton or profiting from Halliburton.

I do not dispute some of the things you say however some I do have an issue with.

Has Cheney profited ? He has stock options look at the Halliburton stock performance chart on the first page of this thread.

A report by the Congressional Research Service undermines Vice President Dick Cheney's denial of a continuing relationship with Halliburton Co., the energy company he once led, Sen. Frank Lautenberg said Thursday.

The report says a public official's unexercised stock options and deferred salary fall within the definition of "retained ties" to his former company.

Cheney said Sunday on NBC that since becoming vice president, "I've severed all my ties with the company, gotten rid of all my financial interest. I have no financial interest in Halliburton of any kind and haven't had, now, for over three years."

Democrats pointed out that Cheney receives deferred compensation from Halliburton under an arrangement he made in 1998, and also retains stock options. He has pledged to give after-tax proceeds of the stock options to charity.
