Christianity is a newcomer at 2000 years, but Wicca is a babe in the cradle, having only a half century of existance. Wicca is based on a mishmash of very old pagan traditions and cobbled together by such persons as Gerald B.Gardner and/ or the mystics of The Golden Dawn. The best book I've seen on Wicca is 'The Witches Bible' by Janet and Stewart Farrar. Another excellent author is Vivianne Crowley in her book 'Wicca'. (not to be confused with Aleister Crowley who is another founder)

The multitudes of paths down that nature based theological road are as varied as any religion.

Many of us that have "adopted" the term "Wicca" or being "Wiccan" use the word in stead of "witch" simply because there are so many numnuts that, not knowing what they are talking about...still spout off that all witches are evil
I am a perfect example, My mother, and my grandmother and great-grandmother, were, lets say "wiccan" though they would of never called themselves that, especially my grandmother and great-grandmother...Not all Wiccans are a Witches and not all Witches are Wiccan .

Let's talk about pentagram spells. Has anyone ever done them???

There's a hebrew one that's used for banishment (=used after an actual spell to help focus your mind on other things). The first thing you say in that spell is YahWeh's name...

While I understand the pentagram is not going to always be a bad thing. HOWEVER it dose represent the negative spectrum of things and when I see a organization with the inverted pentagram as their number one simple then I see their number one objective is dark and negative matters and that is not a positive balanced thing. Just like negative and positive you need acid and alkaline to achieve proper balance, but if you general uphold a symbol of the negative then the organization will be negative and out of balance. The inverted pentagram from all I have gathered has more negative connotations then positive, so why would a organization want to hold that symbolism that will strike negative feelings in people etc??? seems useless……

Inverted Pentagram
The pentagram may be inverted with one point down. The implication is of spirit subservient to matter, of man subservient to his carnal desires. The inverted pentagram has come to be seen by many pagans as representing the dark side and it is abhored as an evil symbol. Fundamental christians, indeed, see any form of pentagram as such. However, these are recent developments and the inverted pentagram is the symbol of Gardnerian second degree initiation, representing the need of the witch to learn to face the darkness within so that it may not later rise up to take control. The centre of a pentagram implies a sixth formative element - love/will which controls from within, ruling matter and spirit by Will and the controlled magickal direction of sexual energies. This is another lesson of initiation.
