When your only mother was a carebear, you're bound to have some problems going into the debates. I just hope my pacifer doesn't get stolen ... while i recite the pledge of alleigence in my opener.

hehe ill be in for a memoryshock for sure!!! look at all those 0's. Where is Antonio E. Moniz when you need him?

*Dr. Moniz was so disgusting! "He developed what others called assembly line lobotomies, going from one patient to the next with his gold-plated ice pick, even having his assistants time him to see if he could break lobotomy speed record. It is said that even some seasoned surgeons fainted at the site. Even Watts thought he had gone too far." [www.ship.edu...]*

Vagabond says:

I prefer the Darth Vader defense- "Oh yeah, well I'm your father!"

Well, none of you should argue with me, because I'm old enough to be the dad to all of you.

So show a little respect and, if you draw me in a debate, just go ahead and forfeit....

..if you ever expect to drive the car again.

OTS
Hahahahahahaha! You think I won't steal the '72 Mercedes out of the driveway and go joyriding with several of my insufferably hot hangers-on? Just watch me.

That's what you get for making me dress up like a ballerina and forcing me to dance in front of your friends on poker night! I hate you!

Wahhhhhhhhh!

MemoryShock
I think I might be in need of your services...

Just send the bill to my dear old dad.

Do try and stay on topic every other page, would you? That'd be great, just great.

Look! Judges are slow and lazy!

Is that the new topic?

The judges might shed their anonymity just to flame us!

Sorry for diverting the thread, though I will say it's good to see such serious debates and tense times globally generate such wonderful levity.

I hope you all realize that you're all insane. *lmao* Maybe that's why I fit in so nicely here.
I could only handle reading about two pages before it hurt too much.

Hey kptr, you got the banner wrong; it should read everything, not nothing
Now I'm going back to bed, still under the effects of fun from last night

Yo, that sounds swell. I vote .... KTPRFREAKINR!!!

I take it the judges are slowly defrosting from years of never being used ?*yawn* I kinda like this lull but it makes me forgetful that I'm in a debate tourny.

Maybe someone should go into the judging room and hold a mirror under their noses.....just to be sure.....

I honestly don't mind waiting for the judges scores.

What concerns me is that the next round might suddenly start within a scant amount of time afterward, and since I'm only checking the site once a day or less, it'd be really appreciated if we could have a slight buffer for the results to be announced and absorbed BEFORE we start the next round. The last round I actually found out what my new 2nd round topic was before I even read that I'd won that round. It's been so long since the debates ended that I think those of us surviving Round 2 would really appreciate NOT being eliminated just because the new round started before we even checked back on ATS again.

So... that in mind, can we please have a bit of buffer-time (like 24-48 hrs) between the point at which the winners of round 2 are announced, and the point at which round 3 actually begins?

Is there any word on their progress?

Do you suppose it was just that hard to decide one or more of the debates? I personally thought at least two of them were VERY close in terms of performance.
