I have a little story to share. On this previous Fathers Day, I believe which was on the 19th, my dear father was kidnapped at gun point. Here's the story. Around 8 or so in the morning on Father's Day, he went to go pick up what he thought was a client and his girl. It turned out that both of these people happened to be Middle Eastern. The guy, who sat in the passanger seat, spoke okay English, but the girl could hardly speak at all. She sat in the back, behind my dad.

So my dad is showing these two property, when all of a sudden, the guy says take the such and such freeway to Topanga Canyon. Since this was way out of the way, my dad turned to the guy and proceeded to ask why. But before he could, the man shoved a 9 milimeter in his face and told him to listen and drive.

The man told my dad to give him his real estate key, which he promptly did. Since the guy shoved the gun in his face, the girl which was in the back, spent the entire time talking on a cell phone to many people in Arabic. Though she managed to say, "I'm sorry we do this, I'm sorry we do this," in her bad english, when she could.

After about two hours from when the man first stuck the gun in his face, the man ordered my dad to drive to a city called Pyru. There, he picked up a friend, also Middle Eastern. This man didn't speak English at all. After picking him up, they ordered my dad to drive back down to Chatsworth where he then was ordered to drop him off some where. He did, and then after that the guy spent another hour looking for something which he could not find, making my dad drive all over the San Fernando Valley.

Finally, the man got tired or something and ordered my dad to park in a parking lot. He then told him to get out, leave the keys in the car and walk away. They said if he turned back, he would but shot, and killed. Needless to say he didn't. The police were called and my dad was a little shaken up, but god bless he wasn't hurt in anyway.

Crazy enough, the Middle Eastern people left the car where it was. The police took the car to dust for finger prints. Then it starts to get a little scary.

Just a couple of hours ago, my dad informed me that now, the FBI is on this case. The FBI couldn't tell my dad precisely why they were involved, but they did say that many of these 'kidnappings' have happend with Middle Eastern people. They said that the San Fernando Valley is under close observation from the FBI because of these events ... basically what the FBI told him is that there are terrorists in Los Angeles and they are planning something. Something big.

So tell me, what do you think? It seems like dark times are ahead of us .. what with our Administration clamping down on citizens' rights, and this new probable pandemic Bird Flu on the way .. I really wonder what's in store for our future.

It may not be terrorism, but it could be something like an international drug or smuggling ring.

Searching all over the Valley for something?

If they were terrorists surely they'd keep covert until the 'big op'?

Why not get a taxi - easier and more discreet than armed kidnap & abduction!

I expect the FBI are just sent cos it involves someone dusky - doesn't prove a link to Terrorism at all IMO

mbkennel -- Why would an international drug or smuggling ring want to 'kidnapp' my dad and go through the trouble of being sent to jail all for a real estate key ??

CTID -- Not nessicarly ... if they were terrorists, then this stage was just a part of the 'Big Op'. And why would they get a Taxi? They obviously wanted someone in Real Estate ... and about the FBI, that could be true. But why would they leave out all the details when addressing my dad about previous kidnappings?

And Bodrul -- You must not be from the United States and if you are then you must not open your eyes much. Killings, kidnappings, rapings and more happen every day in Los Angeles alone. Only those with money and influence will be shown on the news ... this is just small fries in the big picture. And yes, it really did happen. To be a smart a.ss and say "If it really happened" is just sheer ignorance and stupidity on your part. I had to deal with my traumitized father on FATHER'S DAY because of this. So believe what you want you sheep. Give some details to back your ignorant opinion.

To everyone else, I'm not saying this is terrorism, but it has a damn good probability.

i would maybe call someone a sheep if they follow others blindly

I think this is great insider news!! Not that the actual event was Great, as I'm very sorry for your Dad Grey and I'm glad he wasn't hurt or anything. But what I think is great about this post is that we have an actual report and some info which cannot be "Googled" or is being reported Nationally and so on. Here we actually have first hand, well almost, details of information that is possibly exposing some Terrorist Act within a certain location and which is known as a hot area by other Law Enforcement of which we are normally out of the loop in hearing what's Really Happening and Where!!

If it were terrorist, I would think they would have killed him. No witness.

If the FBI isn't telling, who knows, right? Did he give them a sketch of the guy?

Glad your Dad is OK and have him start watching his back.

I have no idea really. I would only have to assume that obtaining a "real estate key" was not their original intent. How would they know that your father would have one?

I presumed only that they were looking for a vehicle to make some kind of pickup of material or people which wouldn't be immediately tracable to them. If they jacked your dad's car and left him on the street, he would have called in and put the car and license plate on crime watch. Therefore, they may have taken him to prevent him from talking until the operation (whatever it is) was over.

They may have failed in their original plan.

Whether it was crime or terrorist related, I have no idea really. We ought to keep all possibilities open. Also, it is now well known that various terrorist operatives have been instructed in various financial scams (cigarette smuggling, e.g.) and such in order to make money which would be used later to support their terrorist operations.

Hm, this is not good news. I assume that the kidnappers knew that Grey's dad was a realtor, so he would have a key. I thought though that the keys had some sort security (microchip? or a code?), that would tell you where and when the realtor used the key. So, if they used the stolen key in a lock box, the FBI would be able to trace where they had been. I am basing this on what I was told last year by a realtor friend, but I am not 100% sure I have the facts straight.

There is another thread kinda like this on ATS, relating to ricin/castor bean plants.

www.abovetopsecret.com...'

Grey, so sorry about what happened to your Dad. I am glad that he is okay.

To everyone else, please remember that all middle eastern people are not like this, my cousin's husband is Iraqi, and his family is really great. Most middle eastern people in the US are not terrorists or even terrorist sympathizers. They are very pro-USA.

Still, threads like this really scare me (and my Iraqi relatives as well for that matter), I am considering hiding out next weekend, because it seems the 4th of July is prime time for terrorist action.

Please folks, if you see something that makes you suspicious, call the cops or report it to the FBI.

This is interesting indeed!

If you read the information I supplied in this link and you tie it together with the information in this thread you could have a solid connection as to a possible terrorist operation. For those that do not know the area, the San Fernando Valley is the are that contains Chatsworth and is immediately north of West Los Angeles.

If you use Google Maps and use the Satellite feature, center the map on Encino, California. Pull out one click and you will see Chatsworth in the upper left portion of the Valley just below the three white patches. Then look toward the center of the image and you will see the 405 freeway as it travels through the hills into West Los Angeles. At the point where the hills end is where the Castor Bean plants were harvested from the neighborhood. Now move in two clicks and up one click and you will see a large park with a small lake. This is Lake Balboa, immediately above the grassy area are two dark green patches, those are more Castor Bean plants which have recently disappeared.

Disappeared? How?

Haven't read this thread in a few days, but has anyone mention Castor Beans are used
for making Ricin gas, and it can be made in your kitchen, enough to kill tens
of thousands. Some freak got busted for it in Washington last year doing just that.
He had some plans all his own and was 100% American.

Ricin is not a gas and is not that deadly.

en.wikipedia.org...
To put ricin used as weapon into perspective, it is worth noting that as a biological weapon or chemical weapon, ricin may be considered as not very powerful, if only in comparison with other poisons such as botulinum or anthrax. Hence, a military willing to use biological weapons and having advanced resources would rather use either of the latter than ricin. That is, though easy to produce, it is not as practical nor likely to cause as high casualities as other agents. Ricin degrades (ie, the protein changes structure and becomes less dangerous) much more readily than, for example, anthrax spores. (Jan van Aken, an expert on biological weapons explained in an interview with the German magazine Der Spiegel that he judges it rather reassuring that Al Qaeda experimented with ricin as it suggests their inability to produce botulin or anthrax.)

Pure ricin could be dispersed through the air, however it would tend to be oxidized and rendered harmless by ozone, nitrogen oxides, and other pollutants in a matter of minutes. Since it acts as an enzyme, catalyzing destruction of ribosomes, even a single oxidation is likely to render the ricin molecule harmless. Presumably it could be sealed inside some sort of dust particle that would dissolve in water, but this would be difficult.

The major reason it is dangerous is that there is no specific antidote, and that it is very easy to obtain (the castor bean plant is a common ornamental, and can be grown at home without any special care). Ricin is actually several orders of magnitude less toxic than botulinum or tetanus toxins, but those are more difficult to obtain.

Why use a cab, who has to report his whereabouts to his dispatcher, who if carjacked will be noticed missing. I would think using a Real estate agent is the work of a smart planning. This is a person who would not be missed for wontire day, who may go to many different places during a day andwould not look to suspicious if it happened to pull up in front of a building the FBI or DHS is watching. Run the plate, clean cut middle aged white collar worker DL and registration, no more worries. Just glad to hear your father is OK.

It has been almost four years since 9/11, and this is more than enough time for another attack. Why not attack on our greatest National holiday. Lets hope the only fireworks we see are the ones at Celebrations across the country.

First of all, I want to thank all those that cared about my dad's well being, as he was traumitized. I really didn't expect the amount of "I'm glad he's okay," comments that we're recieved.

Now anyways, about picking him up, and killing him when they we're through ... I think that was their plan. Personally I believe that they didn't know the area at all and we're trying to find a good spot to ditch the car and the body, but I think they were in too much of a rush to do so.

And about what they were doing ... I don't know if I mentioned this, I think I did but I'll be more clear ... the Arabs ... the kidnappers ... made my dad go to a city called Pyru to pick up a friend who didn't speak english at all. They then used my dad to transport this guy into the main Los Angeles Basin (chatsworth, etc. etc.) ... they dropped him off somewhere. I'm not sure where.

One of the things the FBI told my dad that made me, as well as him, think that it was terrorism, was that the FBI said the reason why they probably had my dad transport this guy, was because this guy was on a watch list. I guess he didn't want to risk taking public transportation and getting caught.

And about the Real Estate Key .. I have absolutely NO IDEA why ANYONE would want it. It's pointless to steal one because after one day it resets it's own password and you can't use it unless you know the password. It's been over a week and I still know about as much as you guys.

ANY COMMENTS and ANY SPECULATIONS are entirely welcome. I need outside opinion to formulate my own on this frightening incident.

I'm glad your dad is OK too; man, I'd freak if that happened to my dad. I'm also in Los Angeles, over on the West Side, so this high profile for me.

Not to challenge you or anything, but could we get a couple more details? It might help to put more pieces together of why this occured. Like, where did you dad first pick them up ... an address, or they met him the first house to inspect, or ... ?

And, what's a real estate key? I've seen lock boxes with a combination they would use to show a house, but that was years ago. If that key is unique to your dad, has it been used since Father's Day?

The city Pyru ... is that Piru? About 40 miles from Chatsworth.

Where did they drop your dad off? Sorry, you might have said he didn't tell you, but I expect he remembers it very well. Might be useful to know.

And the 2 hours between the gun coming out and driving to Piru ... what was going during that time?

Sorry, it's just the programmer in me ... looking at all the details. Again, I'm glad nothing terrible happened.

I'll be glad to answer those.

First off, my dad said he'd meet them at their house. While he was on his way, they then called him and told him that they'd meet him at the Denny's on Devonshire and something. He picked the man up who sat in the passanger seat, and the woman who sat in the back left seat behind my dad.

Need I remind you this is very unusual, but my dad, unexpecting that he'd get carjacked, didn't really think anything of it and you wouldn't either.

A real estate key is the key that the Real Estate agents use to open a lockbox which is on the door of a house which is on the market. The lockbox has the keys to the house inside I belive ... I'm not too sure but whatever the case, it's a key that opens any house with a lockbox on it. The thing is, it has a password on it and that password changes every night, at least that's what my father told me. So it would basically be useless to them and they obviously didn't know that.

And no it hasn't been used ... since they stole it from him. I don't know if he got another one.

And yeah he said Piru ... but he could have been mistaken. He wasn't really paying attention to where he was going aside from where the guys said to turn. He was more focused on the gun pointed at him .. as any would be. Whatever the case, he said Piru and that's what I'm conveying to you. I'm not the one that went through this. I personally don't even know where Piru is.

After going around in circles in Chatsworth looking for whatever they were looking for ... ( they were looking for something, that much my dad was certain ) ... they dropped him off at some gas station. If memory serves I think he said it was the gas station on ... Roscoe and Topanga .. or Topanga and something, to tell you the truth I don't remember that well. I haven't talked to him about it in days. He's sleeping right now and if you're really adamant about knowing every street to assure yourself I'm not lying or whatever .. then I can ask him tommorow.

Alright, I didn't really interview my dad MichiKami, but from what he told me on the way there, starting from when the man flashed the gun, the girl hopped on her cell phone and was continuously calling people and talking only in Arabic. During that time the guy mainly communicated to her in Arabic, and only talked to my dad in English in order to tell him where to go. I suspect that happened during most of the ride there. Though I will point out that the girl continuously appologized to my dad saying, "I'm sorry we do this I'm sorry we do this" in very bad english.

I'll even repeat what I said in my first post and go beyond your question. After he went to 'Piru' or wherever he went .. personally I don't care about location ... he picked up the third guy who hopped int he back. This guy spoke no english for umpteenth time, and my dad took him back down to the Los Angeles Basin and dropped him off somewhere ... and actually I have to confirm that because I don't remember now if he dropped off the third guy or if the third guy just chilled in the car when they ordered my dad to park in the gas station, and left with the other guy and the girl when my dad walked away.

Anyways they made him park, told him to get out, if he turned around they'd shoot him, blah blah ... he went to the gas station, called the cops. STayed in the gasstation until the cops came. Cops came down, took him to the car, car was still there suprisingly. They took the car down to dust for fingerprints. FBI contacts dad and says what I've said in the previous posts.

There you go ... end of story. That good enough?

first of all if you keep attacking people reading this thread with the name calling, they're never going to beleive you...

second - if you're not calling this terrorism, then why post it in the "War on Terrorism" forum ?

Sorry, dude, I don't beleive your story, but if it did happen, I'm glad your dad is okay.

Thanks for the follow-up Grey. Sorry if my post seemed accusative, it wasn't meant to be ... in fact, most people here will question authors about a story IF they are interested in it. If no one is interested, the thread just gets ignored.

So please don't take anyone's questions and probes the wrong way. If we didn't care, we'd just move along.

Speaking for myself ... I'm asking because I have friends in Chatsworth, I've been to Piru, and I have some friends in real estate. So all this hits very close to home for me.

At the very VERY least, this is an interesting puzzle for us. Why would the girl apologize ... was she being forced to do this over her objections? (rhetorical question; I know she didn't tell your dad)

Why would they want a lockbox key ... maybe thinking an empty house (one for sale) is a good safe house to sleep in perhaps? That's the best possibility I could come up with.

The cell phone is also interesting, but maybe slim. If your dad could remember (yeah, with a gun in his face!) some locations and times, the FBI might be able to trace the girl's cell phone based on the tower handoffs (that's how they found OJ Simpson, and others). Once they know her number, they can see who she called.

I was only asking about where your dad picked them up because of the obvious implication - he had an address to give to the FBI. Actually, all the various pickups and dropoffs are interesting not because we're trying to trip you up, but because there's always a reason (or at least a clue).

Again, please don't think any of us is attacking your credibility here; we're just interested and different people will have various and useful contributions.
