family guys new series American dad show republican symbol with satan

On the lates episode of american dad stan is trying to become deacon with a guy in a hood who cant enter a church probably satan or someone else of that kind is there to help him campaign to get as many votes to become deacon but when i looked at the hooded figure he was wearing a amulet with a picture of a elephant the rebulican symbol. In shows like this is someone trying to get a message out with puting a symbol on a character.
I dont really understand the message of it really.

Anyone have any ideas whatsoever?

It wasn't exactly being subtle. The devil's name was Karl Rove.

Loved it when he started to enter the church and burst into flames...

He didn't burst into flames, just smoked a little.

Also, HIS NAME WAS KARL ROVE! NOT SATAN!

But Stan called him Karl Rove, and he introduced himself as Karl Rove. He wasn't Satan, just Karl Rove, or same thing.

No..... Had it on last night, he is Karl Rove. Smith opens the door and introduces him as Rove, wolf howl, later Karl Rove, Karl Rove, only once is he called something besides Karl Rove, and that was by the son when answering something or other.

I just saw it tonight and the daghter like haylie or something said that he was the puppet master behind GW. Maybe thats why there was a republican symbol.
