By now, many of you may have noticed the new "Mood Meter" at the top of the discussion board home page.

This new aspect of the forums actually watchest the patterns of activity of all the different forums, and calculates the likely forum mood.

For example, if people are viewing and posting a lot in the New World Order forum, then the mood will be more paranoid than if most of the posts occur in Chit Chat.

So far, our mood seems to be appropriately "concerned".

[by the way: it only looks at the previous 48 hours of activity, so it will become more accurate when it has an entire 4 days of data]

William,

A nice addition to the site. Even if it isn't accurate, it's fun. I like to see jsut how crazy we all are when I log on in the morning.

It's very pretty...........I just hope it never reaches Tranquil, then we'll be in trouble!

So...

What forums are associated with different moods? I assume 'religion&Spirituality' goes with 'tranquil' and aliens go with 'run for the hills'?

PS: The site's new look is pretty slick. I have to admit that the new logo looks much better than I thought it would.

Sort of like a '00's version of a mood ring only for paranoia. Cool.

The mood meter now reflects the past six hours of board activity. I think three days was too broad a timeline. A six hour window seems like an accurate slice of activity to guage the mood of board users based on the activity of reading and posting.

Well, in six hours The General certainly brought about some General Blissedness and Awareness at the expense of Concern.

I'm still at vacation, but I have popped in to see if the site was going crazy and such. ADVISOR had told me that William was working on making an official panic meter. Well, I am glad to see that it has finally been completed.

Thanks for taking the credit all for yourself, William.

Dude, Ive been paranoid/running for the hills since I woke up to the fact that our govornment was a big scary inhuman machine. That was when i was 9.

Guess ill never be normal, stable, tranquil, or trusting.

But I like the mood meter. I wonder when it will hit run for the hills. If we had it when whipsers was around id imagine it would have.
