Sonic Boom

At about 7 am (central U.S. time) I was awoken by this large "boom" noise. It had shaken our house and such, but since I was tired I went back to sleep. It wasn't until later that I found out that I wasn't the only one to hear it. My family had heard it, and to my shock the whole town we live in as well. Including a few surrounding towns. This "boom" was believed to be a sonic boom.
I was wondering if anyone anywhere else in the world had heard it also. Or have a diffrent idea to what it was, because I'm having doubts that it actually was a sonic boom.

If you don't think it WAS a sonic boom, what do you think it could have been? Sonic booms are not paranormal, so please share your suspicions about the noise.

I thought a rather large pocket of energy exploded. As if a large mass of spirits tried to cram into one place, but the result was critical mass and well, boom.

I’m just curious as to what it is about the sonic boom explanation that makes you turn and support the notion that it’s a “mass of spirits” cramming into one place and causing an explosion? I like the imagination but I simply can’t figure out how you come to this conclusion. No offence friend I just want to understand the logic.......

My theory is just what popped into my head at the moment this event occured. I've learned to trust these kind of thoughts.

Im going to just assume that spirits exist and that they effect the physical world and they can communicate with each other....

Why would a bunch of spirits want to make a boom?

Btw, if you try to defend yourself, I will show no mercy.

Well if several towns heard the noise I guess it might be in a newspaper or something??

Spirit doodad is interesting though, never heard of that one before.

its been happaning all over the place when i lived in FL "now live KS" we heard it to it was even on the news they said it was unexplanable because they called McDill air force base and they denied any planes of jets going that fast sound to me that they are trying out new engiens and such and trying to pull the wole over the sheeple.

The other person's experience is pretty similar. Only the sound seemed to come from the middle of the house and not the sky. Oh well.

something like that happened to me i was with my friends and we heard this big KA ******* BOOM and i lived in israel back then so we thought that is was a terrorist atack after a few seconds this thing that was like a wave came towds us we could feel it but not see it and then we heard a high pitched "teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" and after a few minutes it was gone i dont know what it was and if its related to anything but oh well

Back when they first started testing super-sonic aircraft you could hear the roar of the engines, then a loud boom, then everything would rattle. I remember as kids we used to lay on the ground and watch them..weird what kind of hobbies we had..

But as far as your Sonic Boom goes, I haven't heard one in quite some time now. There's a really good chance that's all it was though.

Its probably just some super secret aircraft made by the government. My teacher was a failure analysis expert and did analysises (sp?) on some really secret stuff. Of course some things he cant talk about, since he signed a contract saying he wouldnt say anything about it and sometimes it says for him to deny ever working with them. But he does give us hints here and there about whats hes done. He said one time that some secret aircraft can go about mach 10. This indeed would create very loud sonic booms and you would look outside and see nothing because the aircraft would be near impossible to see. I think bullets travel about mach 1 or 2 or something, (correct me if im wrong) but this thing is travelling many times faster than a bullet. If you cant see a bullet, then i doubt you can see something travelling over 5 times faster than it.
