Two employees of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have been charged with animal cruelty after dumping dead dogs and cats in a shopping center garbage bin, police said.

Investigators staked out the bin after discovering that dead animals had been dumped there every Wednesday for the past four weeks, Ahoskie police said in a prepared statement Thursday.

[…..]

Police found 18 dead animals in the bin and 13 more in a van registered to PETA. The animals were from animal shelters in Northampton and Bertie counties, police said.

I know that criticizing PETA is just about the easiest thing to do, but I just couldn’t resist posting this story.

This is really sick. Then again, after PETA started suggesting that college students drink more beer and less milk, and started handing out gruesome comic books to little children; it was only a matter of time before they turned on the animals.

I am still trying to figure out what they were doing with the dead animals and who killed them.. it isn't clear in the article

The way I took the article to me it indicates the PETA employees killed them

I think that is rather obvious since there is no other legitimate reason I can think of for them having dead animals in their possesion.

The PETA employees were killing the animals because they had no intention of trying to find homes for them, basically:

www.wavy.com...

PETA uses the majority of their massive budget on advertising campaigns to promote their utterly psychotic agenda. To the point that by the time it comes to actually take care of animals as they claim they do there're no funds to do this with.

PETA killed over 85% of the animals they took in for 2003, yet they claim they have a better adoption rate than most shelters; the Norfolk SPCA, located less than four miles from PETA's headquarters, found homes for 73 percent of its animals in 2003.

It very much disturbs me that this type of information isn't widely known. The nuts who run PETA don't worry me as much as the average person who donates to them because they think PETA actually does animals good. Maybe the spotlight on these two people will be enough to generate widespread discussion of what they really do.

No, but I'll be very shocked if they say it was all someone else's fault. We all know how these extremist tend to accept responsibility when they screw up and get caught.

No way will I ever believe PETA members did this. These are the same people who get upset when a goldfish is neglected right?

BTW, and I AM serious, does PETA put out a calendar with all those hot chicks in cages, hot chicks holding skinned animals, etc?

Not that I'd want one or anything.
