Ancient technology in mountains

Wait, I think i know what you may be getting at, i did hear of mount shasta is it? Near washington? Is 50 percent hollow, and beings from underground live in there. And there's also a famous mountin in nepal or india i think. Rumor has it that shiva/adam is still there in the heart of the mountain. That's preposterous! How can a volcano be partially hollow? What in the world kind of force could POSSIBLY cause a volcano to have a hollow area in it? It's so completely beyond comprehension... I don't even know what to say. [/sarcasm]

Actually, I think I just figured out why Mt. Shasta isn't totally solid, but it leaves substantial question as the the presence of a city in those hollows.

A dead volcanoe could have some hollow spots ... that's the source of the legend of the famous jules verne and the journey to the center of the earth ... and of course we all know about prehistorical man because of those French caves. Caves occur quite frequently in mountainous regions. But that still doesn't bring the mythos any closer to reality without some archeological evidence.

Is in northen california, south of Oregon. It, like all of the pacific ring mountains along the sierra, is a dormant volcano. I climbed Mt. Rainier a few years back, in Washington state. It has some steam pipes and a strong smell of sulfur at the summitt (14,000 feet). We all know what happened to St. helens. Of course that's only half the size of the himalayan mtns. Do they house strange dungeon beings? I dare say not, unless they look like elk or bears ... there was a bear they found roaming around up on the glaciers once at Rainier ... what would these creatures eat for starters? Should find some fresh bones or something if there were such creatures, I don't think anything like that exists. If there were metal machines, they would be horribly rusted by now.

That authors stupid fictional story caused me alot of trouble. i spent a whole day trying to find info and it is a silly story.

anyway another place the machinery could be hidden is in the antartic under the ice. imaging if an advanced raced lived there like many books suggest and had there cities and technology covered with ice.

Doesnt the us government have a hollowed out mountain as a military base so could an advanced ancient civilisation have one? and sealed it up for when we are advanced enough to find it

It's certainly fascinating to speculate what could be under all of that ice, if we set aside the fact that antarctica has been in that state for the entire span of civilized human history. (thats not a jab, I'm just saying that if there is anything down there, it would force a dramatic revision of either human history or the Earth's history- or else it wasn't built by humans.)

Unfortunately, the weight of all that ice is incredible, and it's not sitting still- the ice flows. Anything down there has most likely been utterly destroyed beyond recognition by several thousand years of slowly being ground upon by innumerable tons of ice.

What if the technology and equipment is not there for us, what if 'aliens' from another would or rather other worlds 'escaped' or reteated to our world ages ago. They hid there technology so not to draw attention to themselves and so they could live in our world peacefully.

And what if we (humans) are an evolved form of the intelligent races that has lived along side one another with the original inhabitants of earth. All the storys of aliens and things such as atlantis, were brought to us through generations of verbal communication?

I can hang with most of that, except for the Atlantis part. Atlantis wasn't technologically advanced at all (well, perhaps by the standards of the second millenium BC they were).
Read Plato's Dialogue of Critias. They used chariots, slings, heavy infantry, and archers in their army, just like everybody else, and they were defeated by the Athenians.

There are tons of threads about this but Atlantis never existed it is only spoken about once in all history because PLato used it to back up his theory.
Also I like the alien idea. BUt wecant be related because we share like at leats 90%DNA with everything else on the planet.

One story in the "para" lore is that Mt. Shasta was part of sunken Lemuria long ago in prehistory, and that during an ancient upheaval, California was shoved into the western edge of North America, and Mt. Shasta was part of that "attachment."

check the books by T.Lobsang Rampa he wrote quite a number about the himalays and his stay in Tibetan monastries (he was apparently raised by tibetan monks) and being confronted with very advanced technologies in huge caves etc... etc...

Seriously though, in china on some Mountain peak they discovered round flat stones with one edge carved out and a hole in the middle.

A UFO and ancient chinese carved the stone to perhap's respect the flying craft they witnessed.

On Shuttle mission XXX they launched an experimental tether a mile long. The tether broke and became illuminated and then a bunch of round craft with a slot out of the outer edge and a void in the middle came down and accross the floating tether.

No Sh_t, I have it on tape. Anyway after that and one other incident NASA stopped live feeds to the NASA channel.

Those Dropa Stones are pretty interesting... too bad they're missing and can't be studied.

Doubtful they exist. Didn't the one claiming them also say he deciphered the language in like a year? Sure buddy. And without a primer? Ok..........

Well I just came back from an expedition to Mt. Shasta, there has been legends and myths about a civilization called the Lemurians. They are supposed to be incredibly advanced in their wisdom and technology. They are supposed to colonized inside the mountain. What is interesting is that these same people are said to have HAD their civilization stretched across the Pacific all the way to Asia.

Heck, I climbed both the right and left sides of the Mountain (one slope), and even entered caves (the caves took about 3 hours x.x) All I found was some beautiful pieces of pottery painted in smooth indigo blues and dark crimsons. Which at least suggests something but not reliable proof.

Then again, I only searched one side of the WHOLE mountain. Who knows what else could be out there.

A report from China in 1995 also seems to support the tale of the Dropas. A new tribe had been found near the eastern border of the Byan-Kara-Ula mountains. The most interesting fact about this new group of people? Their size..... averaging 3 ft in height.

And some info on the 716 stone discs(saucer?) each with a spiral groove starting at the rim and leading to a hole in the center. Supposedly discovered by an archeologist in some remote mountainous region of China. This can't possibly be real, can it? What i mean is this an actual documented case or just folklore?

This one plate, dated to be between 10,000 and 12,000 years old -- older by far than the great pyramids of Egypt -- was fantastic enough, but the wonder was multiplied manyfold. In all, 716 such plates were found. And each held an incredible secret. The groove, upon further inspection, was not a groove at all, but a continuous line of strange carved hieroglyphics -- writing!

The tiny, almost microscopic characters were in a language never encountered before. It wasn't until 1962 that another Chinese scientist was able to decode the message of the stone plates.

When I was a lot yoiunger I used to read books by a tibetan lama who said that. I believed him, - Lobsang Rampa was his name. Lots of talk about mysterious caves in the Himalayas he visited that had exacly what you describe.

Then one day I read an article on Lobsang rampa. Here is a summary of what it said

What Burgess discovered was that Rampa had never been to Tibet, nor had he ever had any operation done to his forehead. Instead Rampa was actually Cyril Henry Hoskins, born in Devon, England, and son of a plumber named Joseph Henry Hopkins.

Despite having been proven to be a phony—a plumber's son posing as a Tibetan monk— a market still existed for Rampa's brand of humbug. Evidently quite a few people were willing to believe his tale about having been possessed by the spirit of a Tibetan monk. So he continued on with his career as Tuesday Lobsang Rampa, writing twelve more books before his death in 1981. However, none of them sold as well as The Third Eye.

I read somewhere of tales of people coming across mountains with huge caves in them filled with vinamas and ancient machinery. The mountains are something to do with where the Chinese Gods live or something. Does anyone have any more information on this or any books with references as i am unable to find any more.
