Earth is a tiney planet on the outer tendrils of the galaxy, i see no reason why any alien would ever waste his time on this already decaying world and i would like to hear other's thoughts on this. pls give input. i would like to hear all of the sides of the stories, beleifes, and experiences.

Actually, I think Earth is definitely somewhat of a rare planet and may have many natural resources that other intelligent races could find to be valuable.

It's quite obvious that it's not everyday you discover a planet that's able to sustain life.

i bet humans would(will?) do the same. if we found a planet with life on it that was worse off than earth, with pollutions and barren death lands of doom and poison toad monsters in a nuclear war. we would still go and check things out. it's all curiosity, but who knows what their motivation could be, they could be in search of a new planet, food, friends?

what i don't understand though is why they would sit here studying us 4 4 hundred years, with technology today, would they not only take a couple seconds to come to a decision? kill or befriend?

yeah but who says they're studying? they could be plotting or maybe they are unsure whether or not they like us because they're actually little weenies and everytime they work up the balls to come down here we set off a nuke and they go running.

Why wouldn't they come here. Rich in minerals, lush forests, beaches that go on for miles, lots and lots of things to probe and we're Mars adjacent.

I would think compared to the rest of the planets in our system Earth is a first rate destination.

Who are we to to even fathom how potential Aliens may think, and what their reasoning and motivation may be. We don't know, period. Your post here is based on human argument, that's in itself based on human habits of thinking, values, norms, assumptions and beliefs. Not those of Aliens.

We make the best beer and the best pizza in the Universe. Have you ever tasted Telosian beer or Zeta Reticuli pizza? That stuff is terrible. It is obviously worth traveling light years to sample the galaxy's best.

The way the human race, or rather Americans, are today makes me think that if we had enough technology we'd go to other inhabited worlds just to show our technology off and make fun of them because they don't have it.

It's doubtful that there are all that many habitable planets out there.

Entertainment. I think we're pretty funny. I imagine it would be funny to listen in to a conversation about whether aliens exist or not...

You know, Panda's are on the verge of extinction because they are either to dumb or lazy to get frisky on a regular basis. What does mankind do about it? We snatch them out of their natural enviroment, take DNA samples, Eggs from the females and sperm from the males and we either freeze it for future use or knock up some poor unsuspecting female Panda who will wonder around telling everyone her child is of a virgin birth and therefore the son of god.

We could just let them become extinct and say they were so dumb they deserved what fate brought upon them.

I think aliens are to a large degree visiting Earth to do the same thing. They are taking samples, collecting Eggs from females and sperm from males and placing bets on just what star date we will actually anhilate ourselves.

Mankind is at a crossroads where we will make a giant leap forward, the aliens are just hedging thier bets as to whether that forward will be into the stars or into oblivion.

Ofcourse, this is just my humble opinion.

Sorry but I have the names of acouple of books for you to read first:

Above Top Secret - Timothy Good
The Government Files - Peter Brooksmith

I can only suggest you and anyone else needing to know the basics in the EBE/UFO fields might consider reading (researching) prior to asking questions that may seem a little-bit shallow.

Respectfully,
Dallas

I never thought of that!

Even if we applied our human ways of looking at things to aliens, I think it is likely they would come here. Look at the boring things humans do. We study rocks and microbes.

If we are just pions to aliens, we still represent part of the natural world - and isn't that what it is all about? Not to turn this into a philosophical debate about intelligence, but I believe part of being intelligent is the desire to try and understand the world around us little better - even if it is molecule-by-molecule, organism-by-organism, and interaction-by-interaction. If aliens are intelligent, I think they would have a natural interest in at least some respect.

Right there may very well be the answer to your question. Perhaps it is the decaying world and destructive habits that brings them here. For what, I dunno.... obvious reasons and not so obvious reasons.

Think about how curious we are about aliens. What they look like, what they sound like, if they smell, if they pro-create. Think about how many movies alone have been based on the very basic subject of aliens. Think about how many TV shows. Think about the whole genre of Sci-Fi.
Do you think that if man had the chance to go to an inhabited alien planet to study the object of so much interest, we would turn it down?
Maybe they have Sci-Fi too...

Also, think about this. They don't necessarily have to be smarter than us to come to Earth by spaceship. There are all kinds of animals that do more amazing things than we humans could ever hope to do. In fact, there is a whole scientific field called Biomimetics (Don't know about the spelling), with the sole purpose of mimicing the incredible scientific advancement of nature. Thus, who says that the aliens aren't simply "animals" that have run out of space. Just one more thought from the head of an Uber geek.

Earthly scientists don't stop observing nature when negative events like natural disasters take place or when an animal population declines for unexplained reasons. They continue to observe. Some observe while frantically trying to find ways to improve natural conditions when things go awry. Earthly scientists don't even stop observing when they observe human destruction of nature. We don't know what ETs are doing, but if science and retrieval of information through observation is part of how they live much as how we live, this could go some length to explain UFO/ET sightings.

Thank you, Some people really don't get this.

It really doesn't make any sense to argue WHY they would be here or even HOW they got here. It makes the most sense to just figure out IF they are here in the first place.

So far we have not even figured out if they are here, we know we see unknown objects in the sky sometimes, that could be anything though. We know some people claim to talk to them through telepathic communication, well that could be somebody talking to themselves.

Either way, these posts keep coming up about once a day or two.

"if they are so advanced."
"why they here?"
"we fight, aliens don't like us"

The list goes on, I keep seeing them come up and I've only been on this thing on/off for a couple of weeks.

Well let's just assume they are visiting, and no we don't know how they think, so this topic is all speculation. That doesn't mean we can't discuss it.

IMO, they do visit us to observe what we are doing and have been a long time. I can't say they are manipulating us, or our development in any way. But I think it is clear they have disabled nuclear weapons from time to time for some reason. Maybe they aren't concerned about us, but are concerned we would render the planet inhabitable. I believe our planet would be attractive to them but they haven't taken it from us. Nor have they introduced themselves and come down to teach us a better way. So maybe they are not allowed? Maybe they are watching to see if we mature as a race and at some point they will become our friends, or that we wipe ourselves out, then they can have our planet when were gone? I don't know, just thinking out loud.

Maybe they are just calculating odds and betting on us out in some interstellar bookie joint.

I guess mods can't get way-aboves, as there are no ooptions for it.

In any case, if one could - I would just have hit a way above to TheBandit795, for display of "an open-mind absolute".

Gotta love a mind that wants to see all sides :=]

My "human" guess would be - what they are doing is the equivelant of humans driving past a nasty car wreck, they just have to look, have to see the blood and gore. Aliens mite be doing the same, watching the completely idiotic ignorant un-evolved (and regressing) traits of the human.
