Either this graphic designer/illustrator is very lazy, or has a very tight brief.

I'd go with the latter, comrade.

It's from www.mdrails.com...

And I personally I have no clue what the original poster is talking about...

Sanc, I noticed that too. It almost seems as though the woman is holding onto a flagpole.

Sporty, it's a Dept. of Homeland Security poster designed for rail networks I guess. It feels like it belongs to a campaign, so there might be a few others in the same style with different messages. Perhaps some for different modes of transport.

I'm having trouble finding some recruitment posters for the Navy, Air Force and Army. All back to the stylised 40's paintings.
Dammit. Someone might know what I'm referring to. They are fairly recent, 2004 maybe.

I wonder what's with the return to these styles (particularly this socialist kind) in War on Terror community announcemt ads. That font has a very soviet feel...

It's uh, very retro.

Like cold war Soviet propaganda. Exactly.

I can't find the exact artist responsible for the original "chiseled" look but I bet Majic has some links.
Not that he's a commie or anything. Just saying.

I agree, the "retro pinko" look is so ten minutes ago, we need something fresh to inspire the citizenry to defend itself, something no one has seen before.

I also agree with the "tighty whitey" concept, if we could just airdrop some CK boxers into Afghanistan, Iraq, and Iran, I bet this whole terrorist/insurgency misunderstanding will be over... The power of cotton should not be underestimated.

And if you worry about undue scrutiny by your fellow commuters, you can always drive.

You know Russian, Comrade?

That is nice.

My father had a whole bunch of Books in Russian about Physics.

I didnt read them.

I know a little - but I have problems with the russian letters, even if we had learned serbian language in primary school.

You know Russian, Comrade?

Yes, I know enough to get buy.
the letters are pretty simple once you get them down..took me awhile.

And whenever I run into a word I can't figure out, I just ask someone here.
I translated Zipdot's avatar for him.......One of the word's literal translation is "operator" but in Russian that word means "director" like for movies.
Words like that give me trouble alot.

Report the poster to the conductor because you feel it represents an unusual activity
Hehe, that one got me. Nice post
