If you want something that will piss off any hippie/democrat you definately need to read this.

Essentially this is still being committeeized. Very interesting, personally I don't have a problem with it, but some do.
An important thing to realize is that it says Government service, NOT just Military.

Defeated a while ago...

H.R. 163, which was introduced by Charles Rangel (D-NY) and which would have reinstated the military draft, was voted on in the House of Representatives yesterday. The bill was overwhelmingly defeated with a vote of 402 to 2. Although this appears to be a resounding statement by Congress against conscripting young people into the military, it may be just election year political sparring. It's really not a surprise that almost everyone is opposed to a draft before elections.

Either this bill is stitting around and waiting for the right time to appear, or it is dead. I was brought up once and defeated I think....but well, it looks like there really isn't much activity going on with it at the present time....

and ya, I noticed the little bit about government service instead of military service...still kind of think it's sitting around waiting for the economy to collapse, so they can put the slave labor to work!!

very good point, and it of course can come at any time... if not already. And it was not defeated per say, just differed.
