When you become a Freemason you are able to visit the World of Freemasonry and you will make new friends. You will not be asked to destroy toilets or drug people or use mind control on them. Enjoy the fratenity as you only get out what you put in. The real secrets of Freemasonry are friendship and friends worldwide.

Thanks Gerard - hopefully you realized I was just kidding around when I said that (obviously I don't believe that Freemasons engage in those types of activities, or I would not have joined!)

JustMe,

Remember there is no such thing as a stupid question. If you do not understand something ask one of your brothers. They will be more than happy to clear up any confusion. On behalf of all the brothers here in Germany, Welcome.

JustMe 74,
Welcome Brother, this is a special turning point in your life. Enjoy it.

There is nothing more humiliating than a proper and prompt ' Public Flogging' by our resident 'Obviously Advanced Simian'.
moonchild, your covers have been pulled. Cowan, is Right.

In the vernacular practiced by my teenage skater son, you're a "Poser".

Why don't you join the Order of the Eastern Star? It's a bunch of old ladies, I know, but it will give you a lot of insight into Freemasonry. You could also go the non-regular route and join Le Droite Humaine, or Co-Masonry (Freemasonry for men and women).

Here's some better advice...don't join.

the eastern star was created to keep the women busy while the men, who refused to do their stuff in the company of their wives (and i wonder why) wanted to reunite to practice their rituals and stuff. it has only 3 degrees and is empty of almost any worthwhile information and practices. I strongly advise you join a real mason lodge that accept women if ''real'' masonry interests you.

I've got some advice for you. Why don't you try reading the books referenced in that article, particularly "Lost Keys" and see for yourself how the author twists words to suit their agenda.

That is complete and utter nonsense, as is this:

You know moonchild, the more you run your mouth, the less you sound like a Mason of any kind.

The above is, to put it charitably, hogwash.

The Order of the Eastern Star was instituted by Brother Rob Morris for the purpose of establishing some sort of Adoptive Rite, as were popular at that time on the Continent. The ritual of of the Eastern Star is extremely beautiful and full of meaning. The problem with it is that, like all other such societies, many members just don't care about it's esoteric meanings. On another forum, I saw one Brother complain recently that practically no one in the Eastern Star either knows or cares why the Chapter Room is set up as a Labyrinth, or why the word is "Kabalistic".

Lastly, Moonchild's assertion that the OES is composed of three degrees is incorrect. It is actually composed of five degrees, which are what the five points of the Eastern Star represent.

Order of the Eastern Star

OMG somebody please help me stop laughing at this "contribution".

Quote from link: "They believe that both good and evil exist in equal measure in the world."

*GASP!*

According to this link, Lucifer is "Satan". Samael is "Satan". Shiva is "Satan". Set is "Satan". Osiris & Horus are both "Satan". (Holy Cow, who let Dana Carvey's "Church Lady" in here???)

This is a blatant contradiction, BTW, because if the author knew the first thing about Egyptian traditions, they would have understood that Set and Osiris were RIVALS, with Set killing Osiris and Horus being the son of Osiris, so how can it be that ALL three are "Satan"??? Does Satan strive against himself then? Can he cast himself out of himself...? What a load of hooey.

from www.pantheon.org...

"I have removed my place beyond the powers of Set, the foe of my father Osiris. No other god could do what I have done. I have brought the ways of eternity to the twilight of the morning. I am unique in my flight. My wrath will be turned against the enemy of my father Osiris and I will put him beneath my feet in my name of 'Red Cloak'." --- Horus, Coffin Texts, passage 148

Quote: "To the occultist, the triangle is very important. It is used constantly in every conceivable manner. It is used either with the point up or down."

I spied tiny triangles pointing in both directions on my turn signal switches yesterday. Who knew the "occultists" manufactured automobiles as well?! Now it's a freakin' sin to drive! OMG, the evil triangles are taking over everything!

Quote: "Hall's major revelation was that Freemasonry is the son of SAMAEL. being careful not to confuse Samael with the beloved prophet Samuel. "

Oh, you mean, the same beloved prophet who was conjured from the dead like a demon by the Witch of Endor? You mean THAT GUY?! And wasn't that at the request of Saul, and for political purposes? Was he a Mason as well? NO. He was an Israelite King, if I remember correctly. What was he doing dabbling in witchcraft, violating natural laws and such??? You know, the SAME THING you people scream that the Masons are doing?

(I can't believe the "researcher" on this link had the audacity to mention Samuel in the same breath as condemning Freemasons for supposed "witchcraft".)

I could go on and on, shredding your source to tasty little bits but it gets boring when it's so easy.

Better luck next time, O Ye of Small Mind.

In any case, thanks to a couple of you here in the forum for answering some of my questions.

Congratulations

Yes, moonchild does not sound like a mason of any kind. He called me a liar when I said that I received all my Scottish Rite degrees in one day. You would think a mason would know that this is the most common way for Scottish Rite masons to receive their degrees, in one day conferrals.

He then told me that I don't know as much regarding Freemasonry as him, and that I better listen to what he says because I might learn something.

I don't know whether or not you may be looking for something like this, but if so, please investigate it, it's well worth it.:

www.bota.org...

This is the website for Builders of the Adytum, an international fraternity and occult society dedicated to the purposes of benevolence, charity, and educating serious students in the concepts of Ageless Wisdom. I and several other members of this forum are Builders of the Adytum, and the Organization admits both men and women.

Builders of the Adytum, originally called School of Ageless Wisdom, was founded by Dr. Paul Foster Case, a Brother Mason and former Chief Adept of a Golden Dawn Temple in Chicago, in the 1920's. When Brother Case resigned from the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn due to a conflict with GD leader Moina Mathers, most of the members followed suit, and this group was the nucleus of what is now known as Builders of the Adytum.

It is not required that you have any previous knowledge of mysticism, and the course used is beginner-friendly. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Co-Masonry??? I've never heard tell of it. Nor would i join, something to do with the ancient landmarks, among other things.. And i don't think it is proper for any freemason to support such an idea... I beleave that many Grand Juristictions would recognize such a lodge as Clandestine and for a mason to attend such a meeting he would risk facing charges under the constitution of his Grand Juristiction.
