A Sicilian man recently had his driver’s license revoked because of his sexual preference. The road license authority, of the small town of Catania,
Sicily, decided to revoke the mans license when they discovered that he was exempted from military service because he was gay. A Sicilian court
overturned the ruling though, stating that the man simply had a “personality disturbance” but that his sexual preference, in no way, should affect
his ability to operate an automobile. Interestingly though, the report states, incidents such as this do not cause to much of a stir due to the fact
that many Italian politicians are openly anti gay. It makes one wonder why these anti gay views are so easily accepted in a country such as Italy.
Could it be that the predominant religion of the nation is Catholicism or is there more to this?
