You have to love the internet. There are some disturbed people floating around in cyberspace.

Well hopefully the minuteman project will succeed and after we have no more need for the cheap labor(as it will not always be cheap) they send them back.

The rich and powerful will only benfit from the cheap larbor, but your avarage american will suffer by paying 10 billion dollars each year for their free edu., free health care (many americans can't even get it for free!!!), free free and free etc...

Another thing that's being under-reported: 'Hit'N'Run'. Illegals don't 'stick around' when they slam into car/person/[insert object]. If witnessing an accident make it a priority to focus on license plates and watch your kids even closer when they play in the street/sidewalk ,esp. after dusk. There were 2 H&R's on my street involving illegals just this past weekend, 1 got nabbed by sending a scout vehicle out a lil too quickly to assess the situation, and the 2nd got turned-in by the local towtruck guy according to the cop next door.

The truly insane and amusing thing about the entire situation is that every one of the people who are sending threats and screaming 'racism' would give their eye teeth to be in the United States of America so that they could make a few dollars to send to their home lands.

I guess some people think crime is ok if you just start using the 'race' card.

These people will be taking jobs from people of every ethnic group and causing all wages from the top to the bottom to go down.

Then they will explode the population with 5, 6 or more kids each all of whom will be citizens under current law.

Guess what, we are all going to become slave labor to the hyper rich oligarchy. Corporate money bought the Washington politicians, so they get the results they want.

America is being dumped on by big corporations and they wipe their butts with the flag.
They offshore profits,
Expect American boys and girls to die in their oil wars,
Create absurd and arcane laws that outlaw farmers growing food crops,
Destroy forests here to ship logs for jobs in Asia.

How i wish the American people would wake up.

Chuck Stevenson yea, a lot of people hate the United States for their own reason but they all wanted to come here, because of free health care, edu, etc. + they can earn 5 times more here than in their homeland.

We are indeed, but back then people come here cause they like this country for whats stand for, they enrich our culture with theirs etc. today, i can bet you, 95% of those mexicans hate this country and they don't care about enriching our culture, infect our culture are starting to mess up now. many of them come here cause of their stupied president fox who give a life to this people that foces his people to leave. some said they want formor mexico land back (like they going to get it back lol)

Just before my biological father died, he told me that his side of the family was a mixture of Scottish and Cherokee. This was kept secret to protect the children from racism (1950s). Many in his side of the family to this day deny Cherokee blood due to their own prejudice.

Manifest Destiny was our justification for the slaughter of the indigenous people and the theft of their lands. Blacks were considered savage and not quite human to justify slavery. Americans have always found some excuse to justify actions which were wrong. This is just another instance.

indeed, but so does every other country, every other country justify their wrong doings, but at least the US repay so of the wrongs that it did. i think native americans don't have to pay taxes or something... i may well be wrong, i just heard it from somebody.

Another of my pet peeves. This law may have had some purpose 150 years ago, but it is no longer useful. As we can see, it has actually become an albatross around America's neck.

A child born in the US should assume the nationality of his parents. Period.

yes indeed! 150 years ago, US is low of pop, so we need more people being born. today, we are over crowed already. what they do is, they cross the border and have a baby here and they go back to mexico ... we need to put a law that saids anyone who have a baby here will not automaclly make them US citzens.

The melting pot that is America was formed by legal, wanted and needed immigration.
What is streaming northwards from the Mexican border is none of the above.
There is no justification for allowing this montrous incursion on American soil to continue.
Unfortunately both Republicans and Democrats will pander for votes, and play political games, to the detriment of the American people.

It is the American people who went to that border to stand up for what is right.

The 14th Amendment wasn't written because the US was low in population; it was written to protect the rights of the freed slaves and their children.

I think you're misunderstanding the debate, or misunderstanding your own position ulshadow..either one can be deadly to discernment.

Just out of curiosity UL, is English your first language? I'm not trying to be insulting, but I don't think your position is very stable if you yourself are an immigrant.

And all that beef about 'learn the damn language' I hear all the time..most Americans can't read, write, or speak the language well enough to hold a decent conversation. They ought to shut the hell up and work on their own skills before they start 'tutoring' the immigrant population in proper conduct.
