What pisses me off is the fact that the states and i'm sure with the support of Canada are trying to make sure that all the other countries in the world don't have the materials and chance to create nukes, yet the states is still making them large and small. Holy # world open your eyes. They want full control over everyone and if they are holding all the cards(Nukes) that it for thier benefit. This world is getting out of control. Dooms day is well on its way!

Russia and the US are both actively destroying their nuclear stockpiles... with the US providing much of the finances for the russians as well...

Of course they will keep a nuclear deterant... the new bombs being created are just your standard replacments for warheads that have reached the end of their usefull lifetime.

It's not the US that has a problem with other countries getting nuclear weapons... every country on earth does not want any more proliferation, but it seems that it is the rogue type states that are actively persuing them.

They do not answer to the UN, and are thereafore unacountable... it is reasonable to assume they can be considered dangerous.

The US has no interest in getting rid of nukes. We are actively developing better nukes. The only ones we are getting rid of are the obsolete ones.

Rogue states are of course defined by the West and chiefly the US. So, it's ethically impossible for the US to say 'No, you can't have nukes,' while the US builds better, more accurate, more powerful nukes. But, we do it anyway.

do you have any idea about the S.T.A.R.T missile treaties?

go look it up...

The US is actively downsizing it's nuclear arsenal along the agreed timeframe... likewise so is russia

What's your problem? Yes USA is saying Iran and North Korea should not have nukes. The reasons are clear for everyone with brain. Ethicall? Wake up. The US were ethical and isolationist to the Germany before WWII. You know where it led. And why should someone be "ethical" to the country who held it's embassy as hostages violating all interantional laws? I don't remember similar case in the history since the use of diplomatic imunity. The Iran was, is and probably will be enemy regimeto the US. It would be completely stupid to allow them access to the Nuclear materials. Yes of course they will not use them first, and they will probably not give them to the terrorists, but what if they start supporting anti US terrorist groups(with conventional weapons)? they did it in the past, you know... How do you want to attack/punish them if they(Iran) have nukes?

What pisses me off is when people see no difference between a nation of laws and a nation of despotism, and accordingly, see no difference between the two.
Were it not for the fact that the U.S. had nukes throughout the second half of the last century, the world would have witnessed a bloodbath that would have been likened by no other war.

America is a nation of laws, still. Get pissed off all you want.

Wierd how fishmaster just makes threads then leaves them with no reply... A lot of countries have nukes, so don't say the US wants them all, if they tried taking them away from UK, Russia and China, they'd be in trouble [no flaming like "USA can take on anyone!"]
They are just trying to keep nukes out of the hands of people that will use them to start a war...

The nukes we're getting rid of are like 7kb RAM computers. The nukes we're developing are like Pentiums. Just as a computer from 1983 has no practical value in 2005, neither does an MX missile vs. a low-yield, minimal radiation warhead that can hit a 10cm x 10cm target 100 meters under ground.

Warheads the size of Coca Cola cans that pack 20 - 100 KT punch, and leave less radiation than you'll find in Central Park on a sunny day. That's what's being developed by the US.

I'm very sorry for not replying. I sadly have two jobs and the other does not have internet excess. I reply to eveyone. Just because the government have treaties and laws in place, is no reason for you to trust them to follow those rules. They are created to convince us that they are doing the right thing. But when there are other countries creating these dangerious bombs the only thing they can do is stay ahead of the game. Build better ones. Sure they will get rid of the old ones, when they are behind the times. Don't let thier propaganda train derail whats really happening behind the scenes.
