Where I echo your sentiments about the japanese people being good people, refering to them as Japs prolly isn't a good way to win thier love. Just an observation. And I also agree that FM has some deep seeded issues.

I used only "Japs" for short.. im tired of writing.. i was ats level 5 until i did get "ignored" yesterday / today.. i had to start from point one.. repairing the damage that was made by removing all my post.. all 400-500..

They culled the stats from various news sources. The counter is at the top left of the page. They estimate between 6096 to 7807 Iraqi civilians died in the invasion. I'm sure their families understand, though.

I don't know if this had been said. I didn't read everything, It simply was too long of a thread. If it has been said, I support that claim.

We dropped 2 of these fricken bombs. We killed thousands more then we had to. We are idiots. We could have said "that was a taste and if you don't unconditionally surrender, we will drop a few hundred of these." Our world leaders are absolutely retarded. They have murdered thousands because of their stupidity. I believe in the release of one bomb but two just for good measure is genecide. We #ed up more then I want to think about, no doubt about it. It is like they say, "we killed a thousands of innocents; lets kill more without thinking of possible alternatives". Like the alternative to scare the # out of them.

You have to realize that the Japanese were not the good guys. They killed thousands of Chinese by much more horiffic ways than two atomic bombs.

Why not take the lesser of the 2 evils(1 bomb instead of 2). 2 wrongs don't make a right. An eye for an eye makes us all blind. 2 wrongs don't make a right. It is like they were so eager to show their overwhelming power that they dismissed the possibility that they already showed enough power to get the job done. In fact, with the right policy, it would have all turned out the same with surrender and everything; even without the atom bomb.

The generalization of the japanese as the bad guys because of the actions of a few. Sounds like genecide to me. Lots of innocent people died those 2 days. They never raped and pillaged anything.

WMD should never be used for any reason in my belief, especially to the extent that we used them, killing so many innocent civilians..and Japan was about to negotiate their surrender anyway, we just had to make a statement about how great we were and to prove a point to russia.

Was I talking about things the Japanese did? Just because someone else is doing something bad doesnt mean that you should do it to them...and we killed CIVILIANS, bombed towns of many people..they cant be held responsible for pearl harbor, which was a military target by the way...and, it has basically been PROVEN that FDR knew about pearl harbor, and let it happen in order to go to war.

Could have put it into a harbor, made them watch teh explosion. Could have jsut blockaded them. Just like German civilians were not cupable for the actions of the SS, these civilians were not at fault for what happened in China.
