During the period of overwhelming hits... we had some data problems... most of the database was recovered without trouble, but there were some errors.

Hopefully, most of the posts are intact.

I hope it never happens again either. I am begining to regard this www. space as if it were home. Please do not lock me out, my felings get hurt easily. If you ever lose the key to here, there are other hospitable places with signs of intelligent life.

No problem being a nomad. You would meet people with similar interests again.

The other side of the coin is 'addiction'.

I've seen at least a dozen people in three months who say "That's all folks", provide their own eulogy, and return to regular posting within a week.

That is indeed an interesting phenomenon. We all need attention. You have mine quite often. But it doesn't have to revolve around 'ATS'. There is no real community bonding here at this point, although a few interesting relationships evolve. William went into that elsewhere, but I tended to disagree with his view that we lack diversity here. What is lacking is purpose.

TBATS came up with a bizarre purpose.

There are better purposes.
