I just read this book by tom clancy called "carriers".. a good read i thought.. Gives a good cross section of US carriers vis-a-vis tech,tactics etc..

But I've just come to this conclusion..

Man does Tom Clancy HATE India!!

He always spins his tales keeping India as the aggressors!!

Ive never read that book by Clancy. The one I read was about the submarines.
Wondering what his reasons are for not liking India??
My opinion of India is that she is being groomed and equipped to take on
China down the road if China renigs on the loans made to her. Loans made by international banks. India will be part of the team that functions as a "repo man".

I might have to go to Barnes and Noble and get that book.

well the name of the book is carriers and its not fiction.. not for the most part at least..
Its mostly documentary-style with pictures and schematics of the Hawkeye, tomcat,superhornet etc..

THe fiction part comes in the end..

There's this other tom clancy book (forgot the name) but it has Japan trying to de-stabilise the NYSE and simultaneously invading Saipan..
Here again India is made to be that "evil" ally of Japan and is trying to draw the american fleet away from the pacific by blockading SRi Lanka who are all "helpless"..

Yup!! Your right..the book is called Debt of Honor about the Saipan invasion and the stock exchange. I have read that one but not the book o Carriers.
Ok..so the fictional senerio is at the end of this book Carriers. If I recall what I have read in the back of some of Clancy's books he and his friends are into alot of those electronic games and senerios. I think he uses these games to work up plots in his books.
I will be getting that book Carriers soon at Barnes and Noble. Thanks Daedalus.

He does the same thing in Executive Orders. It kinda continues the Japan/Iran/India storyline from Debt of Honor, only without Japan involved.

i think the worlds wealth has to be much more evenly distributed (and I dont mean that in a commie kind of way, lol), there has to be higher education levels around the world (so people aren't so ignorant as to want to kill based on religion), and I reckon giving Palestine a homeland would also go a long way to reducing tension in the middle east too...

Clancy continues the Resource War arc with "The Bear and The Dragon" which sees China invade Russia in an attempt to take Siberia and all the riches there.
