DEFENCE chiefs are planning to rush thousands of British troops to Afghanistan in a bid to stop the country sliding towards civil war, Scotland on
Sunday can reveal.
Ministers have been warned they face a "complete strategic failure" of the effort to rebuild Afghanistan and that 5,500 extra troops will be needed
within months if the situation continues to deteriorate.

The source actually states that "Secret UK troops plan for Afghan crisis". How has this information become public if it is secret?
If the UK does commit troops to Afghanistan, it would leave the them at a disadvantage if further developments were to occur else where. Would the UK
get help from other nations? Or would it become a spin off from Iraq, with all the major players joining?
Update. Britsh defence chiefs have announced that they will be pulling 5500 troops out of Iraq within the next 12 months.
