Could it be possible that our Governments truly had been contacted by Extra-Terrestrials and as a test to see what would happen if the masses were
told of their existence, the radio program, the War of the Worlds, was broadcast to poll/survey what our reactions would be? Just a thought, but
hopefully an interesting one... any takers?
If you wanted to take over a planet and you can traverse the universe, you've studied the make up of the planets inhabitants over genrations then
engineering a bio weapon would be easiest. Germs killing us that originally killed them in the original war of the worlds.
A film to confirm their existance would fair better without the use of fear and the route of the human race!
How we come about meeting and overcome fears is a huge scenario.
If goverments knew of the existance of an alien threat then it would be those goverments that would want to see what the publics reaction would be and
not any aliens .
I think it'd be secretly agreed and staged to look like we helped them the aliens.
For example a small alien craft in dire trouble is stranded in Earth orbit. It sends out a distress call to Earth as it is unable to be rescued for
whatever reason by it's own side, we send a craft up and rescue. Alien civilisation is impressed and offers greetings of great gratitude . Bridges
are built with exchanges with the sole purpose of learning about our different cultures.
There are a couple others as well, if you search for them. But as far as being a test by the government, no they weren't involved. I believe Orson
Wells planned for it to scare people. Ever since radio programs had to explain that they were fictitious at the beginning of the broadcast. If it was
a test we failed miserably.
