Maybe you are taking the laws of physics that we know today too seriously. Perhaps you could suspect that our theories of the laws of the universe are wrong, and hyperspeed is quite possible, but not through means that we perceive in our understanding of the universe.

That's my 'outside of the box' comment.

For the record...

Some type of solar 'sail' is out?

and 'warp' is the way to go? Or for bending space, would a simple 'Jump ship".. going from point to point be the better theory?

Bending space, FTL, some of these explanations are over my head, so I'll just suggest a more simplistic, alternate reality.

The entire universe is inverted.

There, I said it. It all fits comfortably within the walls of good ole' mother earth(and I'm not a new-ager either, I'm a Christian.)

So FTL speed is not that relative.
Light bends.
Speed of light can be slowed down with temperature.
And God and his Son are bodily dwelling in the center.

All your cognative energy that your spending on trying to figure this out is rather useless.

Trust Jesus. He's there, really.

Where is the 'raise one eyebrow' icon?

Ive never heard that version before. That God is at the center of the universe.
Is that then where heaven is?

The sky is glass ?

I didnt expect to run into perfect science on this topic because of its nature. I also did not expect to run into a glass ceiling.
Thanks? for the input.

God and the Son are in the center.....wow. I think you really need to take some college courses man. I can't stress how important education is, and I mean in a university.

Takes a while to accept.

But if you're in the word as much as you profess, then you'll find out before the mass.

Hard to say to a brother, but if you can't accept this then you're really siding with an antichrist spirit.

btw, try and disprove this theory if you don't believe me. Origin of Tektites

As of today, no one has yet to solidify a concrete answer to their origin. That is, until now.

And yes the science is there.

I did.

And I totally agree with you about education, man.
Tell me where tektites came from...

so far, Rock Hunter(who is a geologist), E_T, and Left Behind have failed to answer.

Ugh

Time out for a second guys.

Plumbo... if you are going to make spiritual statements concerning things only scripture can tell me.. please quote the bible saying that not believing in a glass sky means satan rules you. What is the spirit if the ac? It denies Jesus is the Christ.

Good to see you again jake, I hope we can find something else to agree on with this "glass surrounding the earth" nonsense.

Plumbo, you are right that not a lot of things are known about tektites.

However one thing that all scientists can agree on is that they are not formed when they hit the nonexistant layer of glass around the earth.

www-phys.llnl.gov...

Tektites (Etymology: Greek tektos, "molten") are pieces of glass formed when a large meteorite strikes the Earth. Tektites and associated impact melted rock are found in only a few regions on Earth (called tektite strewn fields) and are, in most cases, associated with young impact craters on or near land. Tektite glass looks similar to obsidian glass but can be differentiated by colo and chemical composition.

www.uark.edu...

Tektites are glassy objects that are thought by most scientists today to be melt products of terrestrial rocks formed by hypervelocity impacts of large, extraterrestrial objects. They superficially resemble obsidian in appearance and chemical composition; however, several things distinguish these objects from obsidian. Primarily, they have a very low water content, a low alkali content, and they always contain lechatelierite (pure silica glass). They also often contain coesite (a highly dense silica polymorph), nickel-iron spherules, and baddeleyite (a zircon oxide mineral produced at very high temperatures during shock metamorphism), which lend evidence to a meteorite impact origin. Relict mineral inclusions often yield information about the tektite parent material.

mineral.galleries.com...

Tektites are still poorly understood. They are irregularly- and at times intricately-shaped nodules and blobs of a glassy substance. They have no crystal structure, and are therefore similar to obsidian, but are not associated with volcanic processes. Their chemistry is unique and somewhat unexplained.

The leading theory concerning their origin is the "Meteorite Impact Theory". It is postulated that many odd events occur during a meteor's impact because of the tremendous heat and pressure produced. Tektites may be fused glass that formed during an impact of a meteor with layers of rock on the Earth's surface. Tektites occur in broad bands in specific localities in different parts of the world. These bands produce characteristically similar tektites and are sometimes loosely associated with meteorite craters or suspected craters. Could these fields represent splash material from an impact? Many believe so and this idea is gaining acceptance from many scientists. The odd and diverse chemistry of the tektites could be a result of unique meteorites hitting unique rock types with the combinations producing particular effects.

Some informatin on the atmosphere.

liftoff.msfc.nasa.gov...

The Earth is surrounded by a blanket of air, which we call the atmosphere. It reaches over 560 kilometers (348 miles) from the surface of the Earth, so we are only able to see what occurs fairly close to the ground. Early attempts at studying the nature of the atmosphere used clues from the weather, the beautiful multi-colored sunsets and sunrises, and the twinkling of stars. With the use of sensitive instruments from space, we are able to get a better view of the functioning of our atmosphere.

Life on Earth is supported by the atmosphere, solar energy, and our planet's magnetic fields. The atmosphere absorbs the energy from the Sun, recycles water and other chemicals, and works with the electrical and magnetic forces to provide a moderate climate. The atmosphere also protects us from high-energy radiation and the frigid vacuum of space.

The envelope of gas surrounding the Earth changes from the ground up. Four distinct layers have been identified using thermal characteristics (temperature changes), chemical composition, movement, and density.

Since their is no layer of glass, it seems unlikely that tektites came from something that doesn't exist.

edit:

BTW jake, i just got your glass ceiling joke. ROFL!!!!

Hmm, the splash theory?
Do you remember when I compared this silly notion to a stop motion claymation sequence?

LB, how 'bout using your brain instead of copy/pasting already existing scientific concepts which have severe holes in it anyway?

Alas, here's an objective analysis....
Origin of Tektites

Editorial note:
We invite researchers and interested parties to send articles, papers, and questions to The Meteorite Exchange and this discussion can continue. We have no agenda except to learn, we have no government job at stake if we voice an unpopular theory, and we have nothing to gain by preventing the publication of anyone's material. So if you want to let us and the world know your insights on tektites contact us.

I submitted my theory to them last week, haven't heard back yet.

Distinction lies in the fact that you accpet his teachings about a bodily Jesus void.

Kinda like you siding with LB,
but not in salvation issues.

o and heres aquote....for now we see through a glass, darkly but then face to face...

Plumbo

Right, I'm the stupid one because I don't believe in a glass ceiling to the earth.

Why don't you try using your brain to show some evidence for your nonsense, instead of insulting me for backing up what I say.

The world according to Plumbo.

Evidence=Stupidity

Then again maybe since you see evidence as moronic, that's why you refuse to post any.

BTW the link you did post doesn't say anything about a glass ceiling. You won't hear back from them, because they will think you are insane.

T-E-K-T-I-T-E-S

That spells tektites. It's glass that came down from the sky.
It's all the evidence there needs to be.

Here's a picture of one...

Plumbo, since you seem to be the only one advancing this insanity, regardless of the proof I posted explaining what really is in the atmosphere, I'd have to say the burden of proof is on you.

Just cause you ignore my evidence, doesn't make in any less factual.
