You people are foolish. Fist off, your entire argument is based on a fallacy. The fallacy is that you presume that God (or your oppinion) actually exists, something has never been proven. Secondly, yes, actually there is plenty of evidence in the Pagan, pre-Christian world of gods with, rougly, the same story as Jesus. (Odin, Baldur, Zeus, Indra, Asar, Heru, Hu Gadarn ect...). For example:

Heru/Asar/Ptah:Was born in the "stable" of the calf; He was born on the darkest day of the year; His life was sought by Sut; 3 Sages bear witness to his birth; He was a child teacher as Iu-em-Hetep, and as Heru-pa-khered, at 12; He had a ministry where he taught mankind; He had 12 followers as Har-Khutti; He had a "last Supper" where Sut decived him; Ptah-Soker was crucified to the d'jed pillar; He was dead but resurrected; His passion was celebrated annualy.

In fact, an image dating to some 13ooo BCE shows Isis and her sister, Nephthys mourning over the dead like the two Mary's mourning over the dead Jesus.

Think not about what the individual arguments made are. Instead, look at the level of thinking the person making the arguments is using. When you do that, then you will see there is no difference in either the atheist or the christian who wants to force their beliefs onto others.

What you notice is the hypocrisy between them. The funny thing is - the bible even talks about these things.

Matthew 7

3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?

5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

While the 2 sides mentioned here argue in completely opposite things, their level of thinking is exactly alike. And this is because BOTH are hypocrites in their actions.

The way for either side to not be a hypocrite is to do what the bible verse I quoted says. How exactly do you see the beam in your own eye? By looking at the other sides perspective. Then when look at it from the other perspective and apply if someone was doing that same thing to you, then you can see why you were being a hypocrite. And now that you see both sides, you can show the other person how to do the same.

So I think what you are actually pointing out is the low levels of thinking amongst them. And as Einstein said - you can't solve problems with the same level of thinking that caused them, which is a good lesson for believers and non-believers alike.

I would like to make the distinction between discussion and action. I don't think this means we shouldn't be allowed to voice our opinions, far from it. However, if we want the right to voice our opinions, then we must also allow and respect the other person to voice their opinions freely - without fear of being killed or punished. There are people who want to force religion on people, and there are people who want to ban religion for everyone - same level of hypocritical thinking. Still not allowing people freedom to choose for themselves.

I'm a believer and really dislike the christian church, but I would never try to force the church to go away, that wouldn't be right of me at all. Nor would I try to force religion onto someone with fear and punishment, equally wrong.
