Garth Brooks had a concert on the deck of an aircraft carrier. That was a pretty big stage. He also had one in Central Park in NYC.

I went and looked it up, at the Central Park concert (which was free) it was estimated that 1,000,000+ attended plus 14 million watching on TV.
