I have heard all types of conspiracy theories. I know a lot of people who have all sorts of ideas about the Free Masons, the Illuminati, New world oder. But I have never really looked into it. And yes, I am in my early 20s. Is this what you are talking about?

I have been on a thread about evolution for a few days now, and have read many battles between the religious and the scientific. The common theme is that religion is wrong (said by the scientist) or that science is wrong (said by the religious). Ohhh, and the scientists have so many good arguments, backed up by more substantial evidence than the words of the Bible.

Christianity is not anti-sceince. I have also been in a thread in the science section about Radiometric dating. The bottom line was this:
Radiometric dating is based on assumptions, not observed numbers, and the output data is theory, not fact.
Now I can spin that one way or the other.
"Radiometric dating is scientific theory that may as well be fact because its based on the best available science known to man. The assumptions are likely highly accurate"
Nows that.
Now it looks good. Maybe we can get some more folks in here that can spin better then me and make it sound even better. It wont change the fact that the information is NOT fact though.

So the 4.5 billion years is only a theory that is based on more theory. Evolution is a theory that is based on other theories that..etc etc etc

The geologic column only exists in its complete form in a couple dozen places on earth. Erosion cannot account for the missing in the manner they are layed out.

The facts are, we have bones of animals that are no longer alive.
We have evidence of a world wide catastrophy that played a part in the extinction and the bible provides that.

You have noticed that since the 1800's , technology has been on the increase while christianity has been on the decrease. Some folks dont notice that. They think anyone with the label, is a christian. Jesus says only those who keep his words are christians.

1.) Darwinism took off in the 1800's
2.) The pagan olympics returned in the 1800's...dedicated in 2004 to the greek version of Tammuz... Dionysus(sp?)
3.) Industrial revolution which decayed family life
4.) womens lib which eventually leads to the NOW..support of abortion
5.) Massive entertainment..distractions..most people are oblivious to govt

This is a thread I started , and it addresses some of the discrepancies between the Christian and Catholic religions. Just thought you'd like to see it, especially the part about Mary staying a virgin. We don't call her the Virgin Mother for nothing.


My mother in law is a fundamentalist Christian, and I am a not so fundamentalist (actually almost not at all) Catholic. We get into major discussions, to put it nicely, about all sorts of religous topics.

For one, did Darwin really recount his theories on his deathbed? I had NEVER heard about that before she told me. I did some research online and there are all sorts of "facts" and "evidence" to back up both sides of this story. Does anyone have any good evidence either way?

Another topic is that in the Catholic religion, when we pray to Mary to ask her son Jesus to help us in our times of need, that we are worshipping a false idol. A true Catholic knows that we do not pray to Mary for her intervention, just to ask if she would ask her son to help.

The same goes for patron saints. We have one for almost everything you can think of.

And who came up with this idea that the world is only 6000 years old? I believe in evolution, she thinks I am absolutely wrong.

The major topic of debate is whether or not Mary stayed a virgin her whole life. We as Catholics believe she did. My mother inlaw seems to think that Jesus had brothers and sisters, and in this sense I mean literal blood siblings. Why haven't I heard about this? Is there any factual (or at least written) evidence of this anywhere? Bible does not count by the way, well, I guess it does.

This idea from revelations that only 144,000 people will be marked for salvation at the end of the world is another thing she has passed by me. I have read that too, but come on now, that cannot be a literal statement. What would happen to the 6 billion or so other people on this earth? Johova Witnesses believe that one too. ( i don't think i spelled that right)

All I have to say is that the Catholic religion has been around a lot longer than the modern day idea of Christianity sooo........

So, the Antichrist is supposed be human, uh huh. I'm guessing that now since it's now a human and not a mythical creature, it could have died already. Going by this, Guess Who's The Real Antichrist! Is it Aleister Crowley (who was a 33rd degree mason & claimed he was "The Great Beast".) Or maybe Anton LeVay (to be tied to the Kennedys you'd HAVE to sell your soul.) Could it be Bill Gates (the supposed gate-keeper between the Illuminati-Reptilians and us,) or George W. Bush? Who knows!

When you stop looking at the bible as "Scripture", and start looking at it as "contrived history" it'll help.

Hard science is not against God, soft sciences are merely used by those who are attempting to remove God from our minds, and much of that is occuring in academia and not where the tires meet the tarmac.

Science and technology are tools to be sure. But if they are not tempered by a strong moral foundation then they are used selfishly and destructively.

Science and technology without a spiritual base is a trap. A trap that leads to people believing that Science is God.

After all, we can venture to the stars and clone bodies, and are starting to understand genetic engineering. Surely, many think, we are on the brink of becoming gods ourselves!

Just like the Grey-aliens who use many of us as laboratory animals and slaves, and who laugh at our belief in God, we can become JUST LIKE THEM!

Even if Science isn't God, the laws of science must be one of the 1st things God created:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Sounds the like "the Word" is very much like a system of laws and balances for the universe-Science
