Well that takes the cake doesn't it?

However the BIGGEST problem with this is NOT that they were lies. The PROBLEM is because it costs an individual state a WHOLE BUNCH of money everytime they raised the alert level to orange or whatever color was choosen to scare us all. All sorts of overtime for the extra police and emergency services that a state would ask to stay at work to protect against a possible attack. THIS should be enough to take down the Bush government at this point.

But for some reason... SOME GOD UNKNOWN REASON .. it won't.

PS: Actually you know, it might be the reason Ridge resigned and did this up.. maybe they are about to Blue Dress Bush?

I saw something about this on FOX and Friends this morning.
The terror alerts were not 'fake'. There was disagreement between
Ridge and others about what security alert level the nation should
be at during certain times. Ridge always wanted the lower alert
levels. He was rather skeptical of the info that would lead to the
raising of the alert levels. Others wanted the levels raised because
they'd rather be safe than sorry and they were more cautious
(or more afraid??)

No 'FAKE' security alerts here .. just old fashioned human
bickering and disagreement.

Flyer's right, they weren't fake.

And, there's no way that Fox spun this story either. Terror is real and scary, the alert level should be red all the time! This would be much better if the constant red alert was fake, too...

Fake, certainly not. However, it does call into question some of the rational. If the Homeland Security Director is consistently saying 'you are being too lax on what woudl raise it', perhaps there is a bias in the administration that overrides him? Is Tom Ridge such a callous and uncarring guy, such that he wouldnt' raise the alert level and err on the side of safety? Is he being unreasonable or are the people who overrode him??
