Please forgive me if I am a little disjointed, I am throwing ideas
together as I write.
I was watching the movie "The Others' last night and it occured to
me that time must run differently in the spiritual realm.
I think that it may run much slower there. Einstein thought that
time was the fourth dimension, perhaps our souls inhabit this
dimension throughout our lives and after our deaths.
When we astral, time passes much more quickly there than it does
here. An hour on the astral plane is usually equivalent to just a
few minutes of 'real' time.
This may or may not be the same level that spirits of the dead
inhabit, but I believe the two are at least very similar.
Perhaps this is why ghosts linger for decades and perhaps even
centuries, it takes time for them to be able to process their own
deaths, particuarly if the death was traumatic. The are unable to
move on until they have released the emotional ties to this world.
Of course with their time moving slower the process would seem to
take much longer than a similar adaptation in our time. The more
adaptable or less traumatised the spirit is, the more easily it is
able to accept it's lot and the faster it can move forward.
Einstein also said that time fluctuates for each person, time is how
we perceive it. If time seems to be going rapidly for you then it
really is moving rapidly.
Ghosts present themselves much more frequently when our perceived
time has slowed down (like at night). Rather than some over lap of
the two realms in a physical sense, could this be because our
percieved time is closer to their actual time - the two times come
closer to one another, allowing interaction from either side?
Quite often ghosts make noises that sound like low groans. Could
this be because they are speaking clearly in their time, but we are
hearing them as being much slower than us? If we were able to speed
up the sound as we heard it, would we be able to understand these
moans?
EVP seems to run against this, but possibly the recording media is
able to 'translate' the sounds, or the spirits have found a way to
slow their voices but need the media in order for us to hear them
(perhaps they are able to slow the tape as it records them). If
these recordings are performed this way it would explain why people
in the area can't hear the sounds.
The modern age has begun to move much more quickly through time. The
Hopi indians of America refer to this as the 'Quickening'. We are
moving further away from our spirituality and if we are to avoid
destruction we need to slow ourselves down and begin to reaquaint
ourselves with the spirtual forces of ourselves and of nature.
