OK, I have been anticipating the psp coming out for soooo long. I was going to buy one but I had a major lack of funds. I am getting ready to buy it but I have heard that the PSP isnt as good as they said. Supposedly the screen has at least one broken or lagging pixel. Ive also heard that the music is bogus because it only plays one format. What does everyone else think.

I've heard it's definatly not worth the money. Gameplay is limited compared to DS not to mention lack of good inovative titles. As for the so called DVD player (which doesn't even play DVD's) supposedly it runs out of batteries too quickly. Some people say use an AC adaptor but that kind of defeats the purpose of a portable DVD player. I mean if you have access to an outlet that you can use for about two hours you'll probably have access to a TV, if at home you'll probably have an actual DVD player. Also the memory sticks don't hold many songs, and according to IGN the MP3 player is low quality anyhow.

So no, it's not worth your money. If you can afford to pay outrageous prices like that you may as well just by a DS with an Ipod. That or wait for play-yan on DS.

Speaking as a gamer and someone who although they have all game consoles despises Sony with a passion, I have to say that the PSP rocks.

I have the DS, but was very disappointed with it. All this time and still no real hardcore game to be found. The only one that interested me was Mario DS, but it is just a rehash of Mario 64...big deal.

So far, with my PSP, I have downloaded 27 MP3s to the memory card, played Darkstalkers chronicle in Ad-hoc mode with a friend (who kicked my butt with Bishamon) and have been playing Twisted Metal over my own Wi-Fi hotspot. (Wireless modems do indeed kick butt)

The DS just doesn't have the library that the PSP has right now...and the PSP has been out for only a brief time. Sure, the Ds is getting a castlevania game as well as a Metroid FPS...but those aren't out yet and the PSP is already taking up large chunks of my free time.

Even took the thing to a company casino trip a couple sundays ago. Used it as an ipod-type device. It only plays MP3s, but really, who has their music in .wma format anyway?

Lastly, every in the gaming industry is aware of how poorly the sell-through rate on DS software has been. Read the gaming magazines...it's quite a hot topic. Even Nintendo admitted that their software lineup for the Ds is weak...which is why a true succesor to the Gameboy Advance is on the horizon. From the looks of it, the DS may end up being another "Virtual boy".

Yea, Ive played my friends DS and it sucked. But if the battery and stuff like that run out too quicky then id rather not pay 300 dollars. I think I'll just save my money for the next gen consoles!!woot woot!
