"Precious Doe" Murder Arrests After Informant Obtains Hair Sample by Trick (moved from ATSNN)

An informant has managed to obtain a hair sample from a mother that has led to the arrest of Michelle Johnson and the childs stepfather, Harrell Johnson, for murder. The child has been identified as Erica Marie Green, 4 years old, and was murdered in 2001 with her head decapitated and subsequently dumped near an intersection. It is believed the child died after a severe beating by Harrell Johnson left the child unconscious. The couple left her in that state for two days and did not get medical attention for her due to both having arrest warrants out. When the child died the couple took her to a parking lot and Harrell Johnson then cut off her head with hedge cutters.



The informant in the case had provided information to police on numerous occasion since the crime. Due to the information being incomplete the police were at a standstill until he sent the police a hair sample obtained by tricking the mother saying that he wanted her hair to place in a bible at the 23rd psalm to bring her luck.

It is believed that police had visted the Johnson home previously during the investigation and Michelle Johnson at that time reported to them that she had seen a suspicious man in the neighborhood.

It is sad when the one person in life you should be able to trust is the one person that assists to take away the life they gave you.

How could a mother let someone decapitate her daughter. There aren't words in existance to describe this atrocity.

My God have mercy on their souls...

There were many people who worked to help find the answer to this mystery.

In the months after the child became known as Precious Doe, hundreds attended candlelight vigils, volunteered to answer witness hot lines and passed out fliers with an artist's rendering of the girl.

The FBI took blood samples from family members of missing black girls, and the case was featured on television's "America's Most Wanted."

This is so sad. The world is in horrible shape when a precious baby girl can be treated this way and her own mother not only let it happen, but also assisted the cover up.
The programs that are available for people with children that decide to throw them away so to speak should be a child safeguard, but does not seem to be of any assistance to children like this one.
I know I should not hate. But these people make it awfully hard not to.
May God forgive me for the hatefull feelings I have for these types of people.

A woman that lived with the couple during the final days of the child's life has come forward with allegations that the girl was violently abused by her stepfather.

If only she had come forward before this little girl lost her life!

I think this case highlights the need for people to report suspected child abuse.
