Those events seemed so improbable that Baltimore police detective Gregory Jenkins felt compelled to end his report of the incident with the admonition, "Again, this really happened."

"Another detective told me, 'Greg, you had to make this up,'" the detective told The (Baltimore) Sun.

Police charged Gregory Alston, 20, Tuesday with armed robbery, possession of a stolen car and a handgun violation.

Just another story from the news of the wierd archive. This amuses me more, because it happened in my hometown. This is just further proof that criminals just keep getting dumber and dumber.

A pitty he didn't hurt, castrate or kill himself in the process, else this one would be a hall of fame nomination for the Darwin Awards imho!

Trust me though, I've seen even more stuppid criminals.

I like a story like this every now and then in brings some good humor to the board, but do not be suprised if it lays here in la la land for years.

Nice find though and got a good chuckle from it

That is hilarious! Thanks for posting the story. Too bad all criminals aren't this dumb, just think how much easier it would be to solve crimes!

Funny story. The "world's dumbest criminals" stories are always just that little bit funnier because of the grim satisfaction you gain from knowing that not only was justice done, but it was done in a karmic, restored-balance-to-the-universe sort of way.

lol, shots, I think you've coined a new term for submissions that never get upgraded. Maybe we should put them all into a new forum:
