Come and get me !!!

This is addressed to all those who feel the War On Terror, Occupation of Iraq, and Occupation of Afganistan is evident of the "American plot to conquer the world", or "spearhead a new crusade against Islam".

1. What would be the point of the US conquering the Earth? In our society, everytime there is a mass migration to the US by neighboring countries (Cuba, Mexico, Haiti, etc.) each and every tax payer ends up picking up the tab for social programs, infrastructure, etc. associated with supporting these people. Conquering other countries with the intention of staying would be yet another burden for the US and its citizens. There is no rational basis for this absurd theory.

2. By Crusade against Islam, I'm assuming they mean genocidal attacks on muslim populations centers. This could have been easily accomplished by a high-school graduate sitting at a weapons console of a single Ohio-class nuclear submarine far away from the threat of roadside bombs, fanatical suicide bombers, etc. But of course, we are humane enough not to have done it - although I'm sure if the tables were turned, many muslim nations would not hesitate to annihilate an entire culture at the press of the button if they had the means to do so.

It's so ironic how so many could care less about real genocides in Rwanda, Darfur, Timor, etc. but they are so quick to jump on the bandwagon against the US who has shown overwhelming use of precautions to the loss of civilian lives in operations of this sort. How many radical muslim insurgents really give a flying crap about the 10 innocent Iraqi civilians injured or killed for every 1 US millitary member they actually kill? It's all a hypocritical quest for power that they heretically claim is in their respect for Islam while they use Mosque's as bases because they know the US respects their places of worship and avoid damaging them at all costs. All intelligent and peace loving muslims should rise up to these thugs that blaspheme their religion.

In part, I agree with you. However, for the Liberal Left, the issue also seems to include WHY the US invaded Iraq. No WMD's were found even though if such weapons were found, no one would believe that they weren't "planted". And removing Saddam Hussein certainly wasn't justification. The left always likes to point out the thirty year history of making deals with Saddam but they like to ignore that THIS Bush put a stop to that! But that wasn't enough. Face it. The US can NEVER do anything right in the eyes of the left. When there is a Tsunami, even if the US is on the scene with aid, we end up not giving enough quick enough. The left screams about Rawanda and Somalia but if the US sent troops there, somehow it would turn into an imperialistic occupying force. Don't try to rationalize all of this. That's why they are opposition. They, the left, are the checks and balances that keep the US a free country.
