The suspected leader of al Qaeda in Spain condemned the Sept. 11 attacks, the Madrid train bombings and all acts of terrorism at his trial Tuesday, calling them a violation of Islam.

Syrian-born Imad Eddin Barakat Yarkas is the prime suspect in the trial of 24 men accused of belonging to al Qaeda and is one of three charged with mass murder over the attacks on New York and Washington on Sept. 11, 2001.

"I deny it (terrorism) and I vigorously reject it in front of the whole world. … I am not saying it to defend myself or anything. I say it because I feel it," said Barakat Yarkas, accused of recruiting and indoctrinating international militants.

Never ceases to amaze how fast the followers of Osama will start to sing a whole new tune once put on trial. They either shout cruelty or in this case condemn their own religion in an effort to get off.

Yarkas, was wiretapped with another prime suspect Farid Hilali where Hilali stated "they are giving very good classes" (referred to aviation training) and said "they have chopped off the head of the bird",(refering to the Eagle) which can only be taken one way he is as guilty as the rest of them for what happened on 9/11. Hilali is now in British custody awaiting trial.

What amazes me is that after all the evidence that has come forth from Spain, and other countries including France, there are people out there that keep claiming it was all done by the US government, when in fact every piece of evidence from around the world clearly shows that it was Muslim radicals. Much of that evidence nowadays is actually coming from Europe and not the US intelligence agencies.

This is not the first time that terrorists have done this. Some months ago the authorities in Spain had detained a reporter from Al Jazeera because they found evidence that he was connected with terrorist organizations. He was one of the reporters from Al Jazeera that always found himself in the right moment at the right place when a terrorist attack would occur, and of course, he would laways be safe. When he was detained and accused of being a terrorist, despite al the evidence that showed he had direct links to terrorist groups he kept saying he wasn't one. This shows how cowardly these people are.

Oh now he realizes that mass murder is wrong...
Not before when it would have made a difference.
No this genius waits until after he plots and succeeds in murdering people to realize that murder is wrong.
Perfect timing Einstein!!!

Fry the bastard...

There is a lot of "amazing" going on.

What is disappointing is the number of questions about how and why the 9/11 attacks were allowed to occur that the incumbent US administration has been allowed to stonewall and avoid addressing completely, and why no officials have been held accountable for the national security failure.

That Cheney called the intelligence services off investigating flight schools is known. That associates of senior officials were advised not to take commercial flights in the days up to and including 9/11 is known. Negligence and complicity are both known components.

What is "amazing" is how long the denial of Bush administration involvement is able to last. For every recanting 'terrorist' there are several senior officials still in their jobs going scot-free.

Zacarias Moussaoui plead guilty last week making him the only person convicted of the 9/11 conspiracy thus far. Mounir el-Motassadeq was a former convictee, but his conviction was overturned last year. Though it was a German court so I'm sure most who are pro War on Terror consider the German court system worthless.

So far there is only one conviction surrounding the events of 9/11 (Moussaoui's). A quite fresh one at that. And its the guilty plea of a man who seems to be out of his mind. I don't know how he could have ever been a part of such a masterful criminal conspiracy and be so completely out of it.

You mean there is evidence in regards to 9-11? I'd love to see some. And I don't mean hijack manuals and passports belonging to not so dead guys in Saudi Arabia.
