Crazy strings of crime and accidents

Just in this last year I've really been getting freaked out by the number of strange accidents and crimes, deaths and acts of violence being carried out in the same periods of time. Has anyone else noticed anything strange in their cities? It really freaks me out. Usually this is a pretty normal and quiet place. But since the start of this year there have been highly irregular numbers of armed robberies, teen deaths, violent car accidents, and other violent/death related incidents. About once a month I catch myself driving down the road thinking something terrible is going to happen just because of what's been happening lately, I drive by several places on my way to work where people have been done in this month. I don't think about it often but when I do, it makes me think there's a "crazy" bug floating in the air and it's infecting people.
