I remember reading about someone dying from pepperspray and a stun gun. Now a beanbag killed someone?? What other "non-leathal" weapons are there???

as a non-lethal weapon. If it has enough impact ( in one form or another) to incapacitate a person, the chance for lethality exists.

Water and oxygen are vital for life, but even they are lethal under the right circumstances.

I think the term "non-lethal" has been eroniously used to describe the weapons by the media, i usually hear them refered to as "less than lethal" which probably is better used. these projectiles probably won't kill you right away but you could die from the trauma they cause upon impact. as with any projectile being fired at high rates of speed, if they impact the right spot it has the potential to be a lethal object. example if you get struck by one of these beanbags in the thigh and it breaks your femur that won't kill you but when said femur breaks there's a chance it could sever the artery that runs down your leg, thus causing you to bleed to death. So it's not really the projectile that kills you it's the aftermath of trauma it produces.

Tasers are considered "non-lethal" weapons. There's a lot of controversy over whether those should be used by the police force or not (at least around where I live, not sure if that's just a local thing). People here have died in police custody when tasers were used on them. The company that manufactures tasers claims that no one has ever died from a taser. "non-lethal" is hard to define, I suppose, and nothing is ever 100% non-lethal.

Its only "none-lethal" if its used correctly and in the right spot, but even a beanbag will kill If I shoot you in the head with it. Any weapon can be abused and potentially kill, also even when used correctly non-lethal weapons might still kill, one person might not be able to take as much kick as another.
