A Malaysian counterfeit ring successfully hacked the computer system of a Kearney, Nebraska bank last weekend. The hackers attained debit card numbers
and made $13.99 off each account.
Platte Valley Bank says it was able to find every debit card number stolen. As a result, the bank says none of its customers have lost any money. The
only thing is they have to get new debit cards.
The bank says its trip wires located the unlawful transactions and bank officials were able to stop what was happening. The bank promises new
technology and processes to prevent this from occurring in the future.
