Antarctic...Atlantis...National Security.....What???

Ok, I don't know much about what is going on down there but have heard some things here and there in different posts. But I did find this article that I'm posting and hopefully someone around here can help explain some of this. If any of this stuff is happening at all, then:

1. When did the US claim territory rights of it, and wouldn't that be highly illegal? (not surprising, but illegal)

2. If they did find anthing at all with Atlantis, how in the hell could Atlantis have anything to do with National Security? (I'm so tired of that bullsh!t excuse for everything)

3. Again, how can an Ruins from thousands of years ago, and their discovery and exposer be a risk to "National Security" or involment with "certain officials"? (Answer: It can't. Nothing there can have anything to do with the US. Any info, even if dangerous, belongs to everyone. I'm so sick of having a liying, underhanded, military minded dictatorship deciding on what information we can handle....)

The Secretary of State, John Foster Dulles, referred to the extensive activities of United States expeditions to the Antarctic and set forth the basic position and proposal of the United States in these words:

"In view of the activities of the United States and its nationals referred to above, my Government reserves all of the rights of the United States with respect to the Antarctic region, including the right to assert a territorial claim or claims."

My belief here is if Atlatis were to be found, their technology could branch off from our technology to create new and better technologies. Keeping Atlantis's technology from the public will give the us gov't more power and money it will also keep the little guys out of the loop and giving the technology to a very large corporation.

I guess "Legal" may not really fit as far as what I was looking for, and still doesn't excuse the U.S. or any other nation operating in Military Secrecy there and repressing the information about what is happening. I love the line "...and its nationals referred to above, my Government reserves all of the rights ..." the use of the word MY Government is so perfect since the government no longer belongs to the people anymore, but instead to whatever official who needs to abuse it's power over it's people.

The fact that Atlantis technology, if found, could branch off ours, and like you said will be instantly pluged into "Big Business" without the interference of the "Little Guy" is exactally what I hate about this kind of stuff. It's just like the UFO situation, if it really is not from earth, it doesn't belong to anyone or any government and is WRONG to hide any info about any such thing.....If the truth of something makes people panic, so be it, it is still the truth and would just prove panicing people live too far out of reality and too unstable anyway..

You know I was here the other day and started "rummaging" which in my terminology means looking into crossfiles i.e. topic words and searching on the web for anything matching(i have discovered a lot of wild stuff) but i read your topic, started thinking of all the so-called hidden german bases also "supposedly" under the Antarctic.Germany was supposedly setting up a ###Base 211### where a bunch of scientists were taken to do research upon new propulsion techniques and the U.S government sent a battalion of troops(###Operation Highjump### which also included Byrd and others )Now think of this there was a treaty in 1945 that was for the antarctic to be off limits for warfare which expired sometime into the 2000.What is this about who knows anyone else?

Well Antarctica can't be the site of Atlantis, period...two Atlantis was a fanciful invention, it never used to have "Technology" until bozo crack-pots actually decided it was real, in the mid 1900s.

There are other reason's that it may require national security. I'm in no way saying it is right, but offering the probably means of justification by US government. They don't know what they will find, so,

1. They don't want a whole bunch of people up there snooping, hindering their investigation

2. There could be dangerous things, i.e. new virus' that could be threatening to human life

3. If the story of Atlantis is true, they were destroyed somehow, perhaps this destructive force is still there.

Just some ideas I thought I would pass along.
