Incidentally, Moscow has long believed that this course is specifically targeted at pro-American politicians. Another graduate of the course, in 2010, was Alexei Navalny, the leader of the Russian protests of 2011–12 and Vladimir Putin’s main enemy.
The ace up Vakarchuk’s sleeve is his mastery of the Ukrainian language. He is the son of a rector of Lviv University and grew up speaking perfect Ukrainian.
Zelensky needs to play linguistic catch-up as a matter of urgency. Zelensky has a problem: he barely speaks Ukrainian. He grew up in the Russian-speaking east, in a Jewish family; nor could his parents speak Ukrainian.
In Servant of the People, his character, Vasily Goloborodko, is a Russian speaker, who even after becoming president speaks only Russian in every situation.
In real-life Ukrainian politics this is impossible. Ukrainian is the only official state language, and the president is obliged to speak it. A few years ago, Yanukovych and his prime minister, Mykola Azarov, were constantly ridiculed for mangling the Ukrainian tongue. Now that language is part of Poroshenko’s sacred triad, rivals who speak faltering Ukrainian will get burned.
Back in 2017, on registering his new party, Zelensky hired a private tutor. Together, during lunch breaks in the studio when his colleagues went out, they drilled his language skills.
Born to a Ukrainian Jewish family, Zelenskyy grew up as a native Russian speaker in Kryvyi Rih, a major city of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in central Ukraine. He obtained a degree in law from the Kryvyi Rih Institute of Economics, but never practised law and pursued a career in comedy and entertainment.
He created the production company Kvartal 95, which produced films, cartoons, and TV shows including the TV series Servant of the People, in which Zelenskyy played a fictional Ukrainian president. The series aired from 2015 to 2019 and was immensely popular. A political party with the same name as the TV show was created in March 2018 by employees of Kvartal 95.

V. Zelenskyy is providing Putin real war games that military President-for-life craves. That answers my 3 year old question of why V. Putin allows V. Zelenskyy to stay alive, even though he travels the world, and across Ukraine without much concern of being killed.

ZDS has become a real thing. i didn't think it would.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky notes that he would like to improve his level of proficiency of the Ukrainian language.
“The level of the Ukrainian language, in my opinion, is growing. I know that there are mistakes with accent marks and some words. I want to speak better. Perhaps, one can’t know the language one hundred percent. But I’m trying to master it, practice it, speak more, better with smart people. I talked with a person in Russian and sometimes forgot the words, and I said to the person next to me the Ukrainian word and asked how to say it in Russian. That is, it sometimes happens to me when I know a word in Ukrainian and forget how to say it in Russian,” he said in a video interview titled “Frankly with the President,” while driving a Tesla car. The video was posted by the Office of the President on social media on Nov. 7.

So Zelensky started to learn how to speak Ukrainian less than 10 years ago. Interesting.
Nothing to see here!

Smoke and mirrors; Kansas city shuffle.
You can’t have a Kansas city shuffle without a body; to the last Ukrainian.
The only thing a politician fears is a vote of no confidence; it’s a con.
