Regent Street evacuation after 'bomb threat' as police set off 'controlled explosions'
Shops and offices in Regent Street in central London were evacuated following a reported "bomb threat" as police set off controlled explosions.
Customers and office workers were seen packing the roads around Regent Street this afternoon as Met Police officers raced to the scene. Footage shared on X/Twitter showed dozens of people running away from Regent Street as a bomb squad arrived to prepare to set off explosions.
Officers were seen surrounding a suspicious vehicle to carry out controlled explosions. Witnesses described seeing a "huge" police presence as buildings were evacuated.
