Rising infections from flu, COVID, RSV, and norovirus have led to partial mask mandates in six US states. Wisconsin hospitals, California counties, and health systems in Illinois, New Jersey, Indiana, and New York City now require masks in sensitive zones like healthcare settings to combat escalating respiratory virus cases.
Cases of flu, COVID-19, RSV (a respiratory illness that causes the cold) and norovirus are on the rise in the United States as the holiday season ends. With the peak of the flu season in the US approaching, the cases of these four viruses, called the 'Qua Demic,' have been steadily growing in the US. Amid that, several states in the US have again made wearing of masks mandatory.
Norovirus cases are at their highest level for this time of year since 2012. RSV hospitalizations have surged nearly 40% in just two weeks. So far, 37,000 people have been hospitalized and 1,500 have died from the flu. Additionally, COVID-19 has resulted in 72,000 to 120,000 hospitalizations, including at least 8,200 deaths.

Yep, I'm sick of hearing the stupid word on media/news...it's the same 4 diseases here as the US, same EVERY winter, just someone invented a new scary word for it!🤣
World Health Organization, puts TB back in the top slot with 1.25 million deaths in 2023 compared to 320,000 COVID-19 deaths. There's also been an increase of hundreds of thousands of new TB cases in 2023 compared to the year prior.
